We've been told that starting today, The Land Pavilion at Epcot will have backgrou[nd] music instead of the nature sounds that have been a part of it since the Pavilion's re-opening in April.

This is great news. The musical selection? Who knows . . . something that would fit in the more contemporary setting as well as staying true to "The Land." Would "Moon River" and "Clementine" fit against the more "pop" setup? Maybe not. . . very curious. Your thoughts?

Hopefully they take another step: at least paint the speakers white and make the balloons move up and down again. ;)

If you can hear anything in that building over the 4th weekend aside from white noise from all the Guests i'll give you a cookie.

the pavilion was a mob scene every moment I was in there last week. the nature sounds were wierd, so happy its getting its own loop. honestly between the addition of soarin, the serious upgrade to the counter service and the new menu and Garden Grille the new Land might be the best thing WDW imagineering has done in a long time. the pavilion feels upbeat and new but still warm and inspirational. soarin is an absolute perfect fit for the land and Epcot. traffic patterns however are a mess.

I personally hope all the music is new and written just for the pavilian. I really do like the music for both Mission Space and Test Track as those were composed mainly of original and new works.

I hope "Living with the Land" is included. I can't really leave MS or TT humming a specific theme song, except for perhaps "Destiny," but I agree with you on the importance of originality.

Wonders had/has a pretty good loop and almost none of it was original music.

The queue for Soarin' is good and also lacks much original music.

I agree with both your statements, i.e. Innoventions fountains, but I was saying that original music has always been great with Disney (from Horizons to Imagination), and pretty much ultimately the ones guests remember if done right.

The Land also had "unoriginal" music - Moon River, You Are My Sunshine, etc - and I really hope Disney looked at the "story" element when bringing in music to this area. Maybe we'll have seasonal songs? :D

I think most of us underestimate the power of music in our lives and how it is innertwinned with our memories throughout our lives. Hearing a certain song can bring back a flood of memories. So music in the Land is great news !:)

Does anyone know what songs are used in the Soarin’ queue? I know this is random, but I distinctly heard an instrumental selection from the movie Steel Magnolias. I love that they included that piece—it goes really well musically with the theme of the attraction and it reminds me of my favorite movie.

Is the exterior loop the same as it was before?

I'll try to record the loops for myself when I'm down there in a couple weeks. Maybe I can find a good quiet spot somewhere...

"Not new songs" meaning the same songs from the last loop, or "Not new songs" meaning a new loop with completely different songs and different compositions?

I must know this... I miss my "Moon River"...
