Filming of Christmas Parade

I am planning a trip for early December, which should overlap with the filming of the Christmas Day Parade. I have no interest in trying to watch them film it, but I was wondering if crowd levels are any higher than normal throughout the rest of the park. They film over 2 to 3 days, so planning around it would be extremely difficult. Also, how will this effect the Christmas Party dates? Will there be less over that long weekend? Also, Pop Warner will be there. Will that make it a busy weekend?

We were there a few years ago during the filming of the Christmas Day Parade. To be honest, I had NO CLUE it wasn't live and it was prerecorded. When we checked into our hotel they informed us when the taping would occur. We actually toured during the taping of the parade and were able to ride a lot of rides because everyone was watching the parade. The trick was getting around the crowds on Main Street. :)

Other than that I don't think much else was affected........but someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. :)

As Gooftroop said, it really only affects crowds on Main Street on the day they film the actual parade. It's typically the first Saturday in December, with a rain date of Sunday.

You can either avoid the MK on that day, or push your way past the crowds and spend most of your day in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

My guess is that MK is a little bit more crowded than usual on the days that they film it. You probably will not be able to access Main Street easily. Personally I would plan to visit a different park on the day that the parade is being filmed.
