I bet you are right! I’m really excited to see how the lighting will be done in the new Journey of Water area. Should be stunning!

They certainly did a lot of that back in the day. I remember the oldest wanted to get picked up. When I told her I was doing the dishes, she told me I could do the dishes with one arm and pick her up with the other.

My youngest used to try to pull that...my response was always "OK! BYE!" and to turn and start walking away...

You've never seen a kid move quite so fast!

The fiber optic lights were something which was a bit fun and whimsical. Things that are "fun" and/or "whimsical" have no place in the Iger/Chapek regime. If it's not turning a profit, they don't want it around. (Yes, I realize that's a bit harsh and over the top. But it's not exactly incorrect.)

They can easilly tie in a MagicBand reader to turn on the fiber when you walk across it, assuming you pay the $25 "experience charge". Of course if they upgrade it, you could set your lighting preferences in your band profile. But I'm sure that'd push the pricing to $49.

This is something that adds so much to the experience that I’m very surprised it hasn’t been used elsewhere in the parks. I thought for sure it would be in Avatar world.

Fiber optics embedded in concrete and pavers and walls is pretty much off-the-shelf tech people can install in their own homes nowadays.

Would be nice to see Disney do it in a much more dramatic and beautiful way.
