February Trip @ Wilderness Lodge

Good day, all!

We have planned a trip for February 9-14th at the Wilderness Lodge (we've stayed at the Contemporary, Polynesian, and the Caribbean Beach). We've heard Great things about Wilderness Lodge, but we want to know how you guys like the resort!

Here are a few questions I have ... how busy is it in early February? I realize that it probably gets busy around Valentine's day, which is the day we're leaving.

Is the light parade on the lagoon (or lake, whichever it is) viewable from the Wilderness Lodge? How are the restaurants at the hotel? Any good/bad experiences at any of them?

Thanks!!!

I think you picked the perfect week in February--right between the Super Bowl, the Daytona 500, and President's Weekend.

The WL is quite beloved around here. It is simply amazingly gorgeous.

Have a great trip.

Honeymooned at the WL.

Get a room that is not directly overlooking the main hall as it tends to act as a giant magaphone and you hear everything that goes on until the crowds quiet down about 11pm.

WC is a great place to eat and the CM's there really get into character. Its a hoot, better than hoop d doo in my opinion.(The food and CM's, there is no dinner show at WC).

Great gift shop in the WL. Allot of stuff you cant get anywhere else in the park. Have a totum with Mickey, Goofey, Donald and a Grizzly bear on it, its great.

In the evening, notice the AA crickets chirping as you walk from the bus area to the main hall. It is awsome.

The WL is my second home! :D

Its beautiful and even during busy season its big enough to accomdate everyone. You picked a great time to visit...the weather is nice and the crowds are not that bad.

Watch the Electrical Water Pagent from the boat dock or beach. You can also watch it from one of the terraces on the upper floors.

Don't know which type of room you picked but our favorites are rooms 6020 thru 6032...these face the Magic Kingdom. Last year we were upgraded to a Courtyard View when our requested room was not available (Rm 6030). They put us in Rm 6131 overlooking the quiet pool between the WL and the Villas. Very nice, but a little far away from everything...nice & quiet.

The Whispering Canyon Cafe is the best. I'm addicted to the all you care to eat Breakfast Skillets. The BBQ dinner skillets are really good too.
Artist Point is more upscale (hence, more expensive) and the food is a little more exotic. The Roarin'Forks Snack Bar is the best, my kids wander there by themselves for snacks and light meals, I like to get soup and a 1/2 sandwich or salad. They have daily breakfast & lunch/dinner specials. Its a very popular place and both rooms fill up.

If you haven't already check out the menus from Deb's site (allearsnet)

There always seems to be a thread on the WL and I'm sure if you do a quick search you will find the answers to all of your questions.

Have a great trip!
