February hotel sell out?

Does anyone have any idea why every single value and moderate room at every hotel is sold out for the weekend 2/7-2/11? We have gone this time every year for the past 8 or 9 years, and have never had a problem getting a room. This year, when they made changes to the website, we figured there was a system glitch, but even when we call, there is absolutely nothing available...help!

Yikes -- the cheerleaders! Although predicting low crowd levels for a few days leading up to the championship weekend, the TouringPlans.com crowd calendar estimates crowd levels at 5 on the Friday before, 7 and 6 for Feb 9th and 10th, and 6 on the Monday after. Glad I'm heading home that Saturday.

Also...during January and February, not every room in every resort is available. They often shut down whole wings and buildings during this period; leaving fewer rooms when things like Cheerleaders arrive...By the way, the cheerleading stuff doesn't even come close to filling the resorts.

It typically is, but special events can fill up the values quickly. Mardi Gras occurring in early February this year just adds fuel to the fire. The values do seem to be booked up but there are sporadic openings for the moderates inside those dates and the deluxe resorts are pretty much wide open.

Quiet is the antithesis of what that week is going to be like! We were there for that once and it was awful, loud rowdy kids cheering and screaming in their rooms until 3 or 4 am. We stayed at AllStar Sports that week, and I know one morning i was one of 15 people in line to speak with the manager about the situation. Sadly, I will admit that it was the american kids that were all misbehaving, all of the kids from other countries were absolutly polite and a joy to talk to in the parks and on the busses. I was never so disappointed in how a group represented itself. Hopefully this won't happen to you.

Yup. We're heading to WDW 2/8 to 2/16 for the Mardi Gras Holidays. But I don't wear any MG/purple attire, heh.

I know......I thought since it's the full week or two before Presidents Day that it would be fairly quiet.
