I have faxed room requests on each of my trips and have gotten what I have asked for every time. You can not request a specific room, however, you can request a particular building or area within the resort. Do not fax your request more than 4 days in advance due to the reservations not being released to the resorts room assigners before than. If you fax it more than 4 days out it will be filed and possibly lost in the shuffle. When you fax it you can request a room close to a bus stop. Also do not give them several requests on one fax. They will try to accomidate only your first request and no more. Also do not request an upgrade in your fax. The room assigners do not have that authority. Hope this helps!

Just so everyone knows, NO SMOKING, connecting (door between rooms), buildings, floors, are NOT GUARANTEED.

You should not be told that they are.

Go to check-in earlier in the day. You can check-in and then go to the parks or whatever. The earlier you get there, the less rooms that have been assigned and filled and it allows you to get a room change if needed.

I'm assuming that the Mansions are in the Magnolia Bend Buildings.

The PO French Quarters are closed for reno's and that should mean that the buses should not be crowded at all and won't be making any extra stops.

We will be at PORS Alligator Bayou in three weeks so let us know how you found the rooms to be.

have fun.

We are booking in for a Standard Room in the Alligator Bayou for 5. Here's a couple of questions:

1) Looking a little closer at the map, it seems that Alligator Bayou Buildings 14 through 18 are closest to the Main Dining Building. Would these therefore be the best Buildings to ask for a room?? The other buildings seem pretty far away.

2) We are booked for a Standard Room (as opposed to a Water view Room), so does that eliminate certain Buildings? We also have a rental car for whatever that is worth to the Building choice.

3) Would you recommend a ground level or 2nd floor room in the Alligator Bayou?

4) I see that each Building Cluster has it's own pool. Is one pool better than the other?? Or do most folks use the big main pool with that Dragon Slide?

I think I am leaning towards a non-smoking 2nd Floor room in Buildings 16 or 18. What do you think?

cheers.
