I agree, Yacht/Beach/BoardWalk/Swan/Dolphin are the best places for a Christmas-New Years trip. Yes, our family has spent this week on six or seven separate vacations, exclusively at an Epcot Deluxe Resort.
The parks are jammed. But you have direct access via walkways to get to two of them. So you can be there at park opening and NOT rely on Disney Transit, which is overwhelmed with people. Lines to get on busses/monorails are long, and roadways and beams are congested.
On NYE, may I suggest Epcot for the fireworks. Truly the best. Plus, you can walk home while everyone else deals with park congestion and extremely crowded roads.
The parks are crowded. But staying here allows you to enjoy Disney time while not at a Park. So many activities, restaurants, and lounges in this area that you can spend time away from crowds having a great time.
You say you have done BC before, so you know the decorations and overall atmosphere at these Resorts is terrific. Yes, the WL has a fantastically decorated lobby, but it is an isolated Resort. The ease of Resort hopping, matched with the seashore nauticalold fashioned decor is terrific. Enjoy your trip.
And if you're a pool person, looking to relax, sniff out the YC quiet pool. It truly is remote, peaceful, and feels so far away from the general Disney chaos that can occur within a theme park.
