I'm sure you would look great even if you gained 50 pounds. My point is, you probably shouldn't worry about it, and enjoy your vacation instead.

But I'm also sure someone will come along soon with actual information on your question; as for me, I have no clue.

I usually watch what I eat on a day-to-day basis. But at Disney????? HAHA. I already told my boyfriend that i'll probably gain 5 pounds on our trip (StArTiNg ToMoRrOw)!!!

Or, just pick up your group's walking speed to a cardio speed! We always walk fast during Disney!

They usually have healthy options at the restaurants. They have veggie burgers and stuff. And you can always substitute fries for carrots. But don't ask me what the hell they taste like because I just pig out when I go.

We always lose weight in WDW because of all the walking we do. *shrugs*

Most places offer salads (go easy on the dressing), avoid the fried foods and jumbo sandwiches. I like the buffets the best as its easier to choose the healthier foods. Watch the snacks, thats where a lot of people go wrong.

I really don't watch too closely while on vacation as its only a few days out of my life.

Cosmic Rays has the salad/sandwich counter. The Land's Sunshine Seasons at Epcot is good, and don't forget the counter service in Morocco. For sit down meals, lunch at Chefs des France has a great vegetarian option and the Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary has good choices.

i got for my breakfast while i was staying at all star sports most mornings i dont know the name of it but it contained strawberries, grapes (seedless), banana bread (which is healthy and good for you) and it had this little dish of either fruit whipped together or cream. seems i dont eat cream i ate this one coz it was tasty and healthy and i think it came to something like $3.79 and it was very worth it. if your up for it try a tofu and vegetable stir fry from the tomorrow land noodle station.

Tusker House at AK has a wonderful selection of healthy eats. There's a vegetarian pita sandwich that comes with a side of grapes I think that's wonderful!! And you can't go wrong with the salmon, veggies, and rice.

One of my favorite meals! :slurp:

My theory is little substitutions along the way...

-Have only 1 Mickey Premium bar. After that, switch to the much healthier strawberry bars.

-Water and diet soda only! Sugary drinks are full of calories and don't really help you stay hydrated.

-Share! Get yourself a side salad or bowl of soup, and have just a taste of burger or french fries.

-Watch your condiments. Mayonnaise and salad dressings aren't great. Ketchup, mustard, and vinegars are ok.

-Most places offer carrots instead of fries or a fruit cup. Both are much better options than any starchy side dish.

-Bring your own snacks in (granola bars, 100 calorie packs) to avoid buying a bag of chips, large soft pretzel, greasy popcorn, etc.

As for what mellie said above, I would just stick with the water, you need it anyway in Disney, and diet soda only makes you gain more weight in the end.

As far as healthy options, the hummus sandwich in Coumbia Harbour House is to die for. In each park there are also stands that sell whole fruit for about a dollar (or just bring a bag of apples and oranges with you, they travel well) Carry granola or trail mix with you for healthier snack options. And, split larger meals. The meals are big enough to feed a small country, don't eat the whole thing!

If you go to a sit-down restaurant, tell the server that you want something that's not necessarily on the menu and not loaded with calories and could you please speak to the chef. The chef should be willing to work with you to give you something healthier, as well. Perhaps grilling a chicken breast without all the oil, steamed veggies, plain baked potato...stuff like that.

A posibly healthy snack option is to cut out the ice cream all together, and opt for the even healthier fruits offered at stands (such as the one near ToT in MGM). My parents and I usually do this, and the grapes and strawberries are wonderful. :slurp:

Is this really true?!!!

I drink caffeine free diet coke, and not much else - (I think I have a bit of an addiction!)

I am also really trying to lose weight, and I eat really healthily. How does diet soda make you gain weight? Can you explain this? Maybe I will have to break the addiction!

The soda contains sodium which will help to retain water in the body. There are some who believe that even artificial sweeteners contribute to weight gain because they make you want to eat more. As both my doctor an nutritionist have told me enjoy the diet soda (I drink the same as you do), but try to have no more than 2 8oz glasses a day.

Water is the best liquid for you. You don't have to drink it plain, add a little fresh lemon or lime juice. Try cutting back on the soda and see what a difference it can make.
