I used to get to the parades an hour early to sit on the curb. Then as Nansafan said someone would push their way through. Now I go down to the end of Main St. by the train station 5 minutes before Spectromagic starts and stand behind groups that are sitting down.

For Reflections I step out of the Rose and Crown 5 minutes before the start and go down to where they have kids sitting on the walkway and stand or sit behind them.

The Illuminations 2002 Reflections of Earth is a great show.

Here's some info from WDWIG.com Website. :sohappy: Check this site out, it has some great info on all parks, hotels, restaurants, etc.:

Illumincations Highlights:

A 13-minute night-time spectacular on and above World Showcase Lagoon.

Earth Globe is the world's first spherical video display system, wrapped in 15,000 LEDs (Light-Emitting Diodes).

1,105 shells are used for each show; 34 firing positions. Shells come from China, Italy, U.S. and Japan.

Shell types: comets, candles, mines, shells, tailed shells, crossettes, scattering bees, whistles, reports/salutes, ground effects, floaters.

Four fountain barges each pumping 4,000 gallons of water per minute.

A 150,000-pound inferno barge uses 37 nozzles to shoot propane flames skyward.

A full color spectrum of lasers, including four custom Disney colors (lagoon blue, mint green, pumpkin orange and lavender).

Walls of flames and a giant torch climb 40 feet above World Showcase Lagoon
:dazzle:

It's just that I enjoyed the original show because I loved the music of Gershwin and I liked when each country would light up and music from each country would play. Besides I used to see this show from the outside dining veranda at the Rose & Crown. It would make for a very special and memorable evening.:D

Try to get a spot early though because some of the height-challenged individuals like me miss alot of the water effects. It's hard to see alot of the lasers, fountains, and particularly the Earth Globe unless you're up front.:brick:

Enjoy!
