I voted for Fantasy because I love to see Tink fly down, and I haven't seen the new parades. But I also like Fantasmic and Spectromagic (even though I prefer MSEP).
I've enjoyed watching Illuminations evolve over the years. I love the show - it's beautifulyy choreographed. The music, no matter where I play it, always takes me back to the lagoon.
IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth wins hands down! Its the most moving show I've ever seen. Its my GREATEST memory from both disney trips these past few years and I can't wait to see it again. BEST music created for a Disney show EVER!
I had the 15, 10, 5 minute spiels down pat and knew when everything for the show would happen from (music changes to movement of earth, fire shots, when launched fireworks would go off, etc.).
Fantasmic is the best show ever at Disney it has some cool special effects like putting the pictures on the water and I liked all of the different characters they had and the different scenes.
:sohappy: Fantasmic has to be the best!!!!!!! It's the only one where you have fairly comfortable seating and the view is pretty good regardless of where you sit. I have seen Fantasmic several times and enjoy just as much each time.
This has to be my favorite part of Disney. My last trip (Easter 2000) my daughter and I waitied in line for and had no idea what it was...and when it started we were just mystified I cannot wait to see it in October. It is like Illuminations and Spectro magic in one...well on water of course...but man it is wonderful
As much as I enjoy Illuminations, I just have to vote for Fantasmic.
We first saw it in ' 99 and visited MGM four times - mainly just to see the show at the end of the day. We returned to WDW in ' 01 and visited MGM three times (watching the show each time) and park-hopped at the end of a day at AK to catch the presentation.
It might just be me but I feel this show captures the best of Disney's creativity.
I didn't vote on the poll because I haven't seen the new parades yet (11 more days to go til the Poly). My fav has to be Fantasmic. Nice seating area and refreshments. Illuminations is great but having to wait almost 2 hours to stake out and fight to keep a spot can get pretty boring. The last time we saw it, 2 of the kids didn't even watch cause they had fallen asleep. It really bothers me when you have done what that guidebooks suggest and find your spot for a parade or fireworks show 1 - 2 hours in advance and then 5 minutes before the start, someone tries to push in front of you. At least with the parades, CM's do their best to control the crowds. Had a great CM last year who "patrolled" our area while we watched Spectromagic. (sorry got off the subject). Fantasmice Rules.
Tapestry of Dreams parade has to be my favorite. I did like Fantasmic but didn't enjoy having to be there more than a hour early for a seat UGH! I hate waiting in lines or waiting at all these days. Must be getting old.
I actually liked the original Illuminations show better than the current one and again I hate having to line up more than an hour to get a good spot. Would love to see Cirque Du Soleil.
I'm going to WDW in December and can't wait to see the Candlelight Processional and the Osbourne Family Lights.
Howdy all,
the last time i saw illuminations was in august 99 just before it changed.... this year we are going back! yayayayayay.
Just wondered whats different about Illuminations: reflections of Earth and tha old illuminations?
cheers

I love Illuminations very much, but voted for Fantasmic because: I´m seating, it´s a live "show", and it´s a reminder of the mouse and other characters that made Disney what it was from its earliest days to the present. I love seeing the different costumes that Mickey wore, the floats with the couples, the music, the special effects, the water screens, etc. It made me cry the first time and my family loved it too. (same thing with Illuminations though) :animwink:
I voted for Illuminations. I love Fantasmic but I like it a lot better at Disneyland. At MGM you have to wait for about an hour and a half but at Disneyland you can just walk up an see it.
