The Monkees![]()
Aah you like Wool Hat. I've seen them 25+ times (in different combinations) through the years. (They were my first "real" concert.) I first saw them when I was little (6 or 7) in the mid-70's but it was Dolenz, Jones, Boyce and Hart. (Helped having a sister 12 years older, lol.) I saw them over a dozen times with Weird Al. I have three sisters and we all have our favorite, mine being Micky Dolenz. In high school I had the opportunity to meet him after a show on the 20th Anniversary Tour. I got a half-dozen pictures of us making silly faces and ONE nice one. I have a picture of us with my best friend doing the three wise monkeys see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil thing too. Everyone signed my yearbook that year "To Monkee Girl," lol.I saw them in concert! They were loud (bad sound techs)...
While I loved the show, and the Weird Al opening act was AMAZING (first time I'd ever heard Yoda, and I was rolling on the floor)...Mom and I decided it was just too loud, and left about 1/4 way through the Monkey's act. Plus, Mike Nesmith wasn't with them, and he was my favorite from the show.
It depresses me that all these groups are now "classic".
I do love the 80s. It was the best decade.Beyond classic. Gotta love the 80s though.![]()
