I am going to Disneyworld for two days in April and I would to know if it is possible to book fastpasses for myself and two friends. I do not have the tickets personally so do you need these or can you link the tickets later? Is it even possible to get fastpasses while with a school group?

The tickets will enable you to book FPs once you link them to your MDE account.
Different schools and groups will have different procedures. So they give you the ticket numbers ahead of time, you can link them and book FPs then. If however they hand them out on a coach on the way to the parks of the first morning, then you will only be able to book FPs then.
Make sure you and your friends are already linked on MDE, so that whenever you get the tickets you’ll be ready to go.
