Fastpass Return Times

If I were to arrive at an FP attraction as soon as a park opens and were to get a fastpass, what return time should I expect? How soon are the first return times, and if this return time is less than 2 hours, can I get another FP as soon as the ride time rolls around? Thanks...just doing some planning. :-)

The first fast pass times are generally for about an hour after park opening so if you got to the attraction at 9:05 the fastpass would likely be for 10:05-11:05am and usually another fastpass is available 5 minutes after your first fastpass window opens. So if you had a fast pass for the times listed above, your next would be available probably around 10:10am.

Our experience has somewhat been the same as the poster's above, but sometimes, say, if the park opens at 9, you get your FastPass at 9:05, the Return Time could be 9:10-10:10. So you could technically go on the ride, get off, use your FP to get on again, and end up taking 15 minutes to do the ride twice. All depends on how many people have gone before you to get FPs. :)

And remember, if your FP is from 9:05-10:05, you can get another FP as soon as the clock hits 9:05. Hope that all made sense!

That does make sense. I just didn't know if there was a set 'first' return time and set time for getting another FP. If I got the first FP of the day, I didn't know if it would be for an hour after I got it or 2 hours or 5 min.

Why bother? Why not just get on the ride then? When I went to TSMM it was about 9:45am, but the FP return time was around 2:15pm or so. Since the wait was only 30 minutes at that time (since there were no FP returns yet), I just got in line. The line to get a FP was longer! Why should I stick around for several hours when it's a manageable wait. The next day I got there around 11am and the return time was 5:45pm. No way was I waiting that ling. I don't think they should release all the FPs right away. They should do them in blocks throughout the day to make it a little more equitable.

I was just thinking of doing both for my fav attractions. If I go directly to, say ToT, at park opening, grab a FP and go ride right away. I just wondered how soon I could ride again with my FP. That's why the questions? :-)

As far as I am aware everyone is entitled to arrive at the park at opening time and to gain access to the fast pass system. Just because you choose to snooze why should I be penalised.

AndIm pretty sure that some fast pass return times are within that first hour. It makes it possible to do multiple rides on all the key attractions.

With only a few exceptions, in my experience the minimum return time has always been 40-45 minutes ahead of the current time. On very slow days when noone is getting FastPasses because the lines are short, like at Space Mountain, the FP time has consistently kept that 40-45 minute buffer.
So by this, I can presume that even if all possible FPs for a set time window haven't been given out, the system will advance to the next time frame if it reaches that 40-minute mark.

But, on a busy day or with a very popular attraction, the system issues FPs and keeps advancing through the available windows as each window runs out of the set number of FPs for it. So that's why you could see late-afternoon return times and it's still fairly early in the day.

I figured as much. I do that with ToT, which has a very weird waiting time. I'll get a FP because the wait is an hour. I'll come back in an hour to see the ride is a walk-on (into the pre-show anyway)...but when I get off the ride the line is an hour again. Rinse then repeat. It's very strange. I usually climb over the chain into the standby and then after that when the line builds again I ride again using the FP. That ride really is the Twilight Zone!

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I know that TSMM is crazy popular right now and FP's are gone quickly, but what exactly did you mean by that statement?

I think that meant the return time. If it's TSMM, then the return time is likely going to be several hours from the time you pick up your FP because it is just too popular. Though the Jungle Cruise is also popular, the FPs aren't as in high demand, so it likely will be the standard return time of about an hour later.

Tower's line can really fluctuate, as you've found. I believe the main reason is due to showings of Beauty and the Beast immediately next door letting out. Plus if RnRC happens to go down, even briefly, people who find the RnRC queue closed will go next door to Tower.

FPs are 1 hour and 5 minutes after the park opens (9:05 if the park opens at 8:00 am, 10:05 if the park opens at 9:00am). Another FP is not available until the return time for the morning FPs.
