FastPass reservations - linking to FL resident pass at 60 days?

Hello and thanks in advance to anyone with info on this topic! We are planning our first trip to Disney World and are staying on property. My 60 day FastPass reservation date is coming in a couple weeks. My mother-in-law lives in Florida and will be driving to Disney a couple days to meet us at the parks. She is not staying with us on property since she lives fairly close.

I asked our travel agent how we can book Fastpasses for MIL at our 60 day date. She said this was not possible because MIL is not on our package and not staying on property. MILs Fastpass booking date will be at 30 days. I wanted to double check this, thinking it seems an inconvenience for all FL grandparents! When I called, a cast member told me the travel agent is incorrect. Our MIL could buy her park passes in advance and we could link her voucher numbers to our reservation. Then the system would let us book her Fastpasses at 60 days too. Told this to travel agent. She called Disney and said she got routed around a bit but then told this was not correct! MILs passes only available to be booked at 30 days.

The back and forth is giving me a headache! Does anyone truly know how this would work? We have a few things we want to book at 60 days (Anna /Elsa, Be Our Guest) and I know they won't be available when my MIL's 30 day window opens. (Assuming we even get them!!) So appreciate any advice. Complete Disney newbie here!

The 60 day window is only open to resort guests. If you added your MIL to your resort reservation then she would be able to make FP+ reservations at the 60 day mark. Otherwise she will be able to make FP+ reservations at the 30 day mark.

30 days for the MIL is correct. If she doesn't have a WDW resort reservation linked to her MDE profile (whether it's a profile she controls or a sub-profile you created under your own MDE account), the FP+ won't give her access.

You can add her to your hotel reservation, but unless you're staying at a DVC resort you'll get hit with extra-adult fees. And if you're on a package reservation she'd have to get all of the items for the package (tickets, dining, etc) so that wouldn't be worth it.

But what you *can* do is make FP+ choices for your family at 60 days and then at the 30-day mark copy those FP+ choices over to her. The system will work to try and copy all of them exactly the same, but you may not be able to get one or two, especially if you've chosen the most popular FP+ choices.

Also, if you want a Be Our Guest lunch fastpass, this is not part of your FP+ choices at the 60 day mark. BOG is a completely different system. You will receive an invitation when you are under 30 days from your arrival with a link with instructions. But the fastpass reservation is only for guests listed on the room reservation~ therefore your MIL would not be eligible.

(If you are successful in obtaining a fastpass, you could mention you have an additional guest when you check in at BOG and they *might* be willing to add your MIL to your party. )
