Fastpass question

Hey I was wondering, with Disney's Fastpass, if there is a group, what happens if someone doesn't get a fastpass for the attraction? Do they have to miss it or can CM's do something about it? On my last trip there was a 15 min break from my pass from everyone elses. The CM just let me go with my group because it was one of 7 that had to wait. I was wondering if this has happened to any of you and you couldn't ride because of this, or the cast member let you on with your group.

As far as I know if you don't have a FP then you can't go regardless if you have a group. However most Cast Members will allow you to go if your with a group and one of you has a slightly different time.

They're not supposed to let you go, but since they're only human, they will probably let it happen.

Also, there should never be a time when everyone in your group is completely separated. If FPs move in 15 min increments, and the clock changes while you're getting your FPs, then you're still going to have 45 mins of time common among all of the FPs

For example, let's say the FP was for 1230-130. Most of your group gets their FPs, but it changes now to 1245-145 while you are getting your FP. All of the passes are still active in the 1245-130 window. If you show up at 1245, then everyone can get on the ride at the same time without any problems.

I've seen a few times, the CM watching the clock will give someone a fastpass if it turns out that one person in their party doesn't have one. I suppose they aren't supposed to, but mistakes happen and CMs have to remember that and make sure that they still give the guest a magical experiance. Having to wait while eveyone else rides because you don't have a fastpass isn't very magical.

While at MGM on Monday, there were 5 of us that had a FP to RnRC and then I met up with my friend who is a CM at the GF. We were told to stand on the side while the CM at RnRC let everyone in and then he would go and get one for my friend, but a guest in line overheard us and gave us an extra one for him so we just walked right on. So if you don't have one, I'm sure they would.
