So I just had a chance to catch up with a friend and her husband who went to Disney beginning of January for a weekend to celebrate their anniversary. They stayed at the Polynesian and planned to only visit MK for one day. Because they hadn't paid attention to all the new MagicBand and Fastpass+ stuff, they went to concierge when they arrived to ask for help with setting everything up with the MagicBand. Here's where it gets interesting - The cast member said that because it was their anniversary he would add two extra fastpasses to there band and then added in one more for them to visit with Mickey at Hometown square. So they ended up with six.
So I of course have to wonder if this is a little perk only deluxe guests will experience from time to time or anyone celebrating something special. Being given an extra perk or an unexpected experience at Disney has always been part of what makes Disney magical. But with many of us feeling like we've lost a benefit by being limited to three fastpasses, I don't think I'm too happy to know that certain guests will be given this added benefit. Also, as people hear about this, I can imagine a lot of people will start celebrating all kinds of things to try to get extra fp's.
