I'm sure someone has posted this before and can point me towards a link or something. But I am 75 days out as of posting, and I went onto my MDE today and it said I could do my band custimizations and my fp+ bookings. I did the bands, but as soon as I tried my fp+ I got a message saying "We're sorry! The selected date must be within at least one party members fast pass+ selection window." What's goin on?

Can't speak for others but the ability for me to make FP+ selections did not become available till I was 40 or 45 days out (can't recall which one).

I was on MDE last night, looking over things, and suddenly I was able to customize and order our Magic Bands, for our Feb/March trip. But no FP+ just yet. That's supposedly a 60-day perk, but with testing still going on, it's hit and miss.

I have an ap so I went to the fastpass site and I can make reservations at 61 days out.
I just got back from wdw tonight. They linked my ap to my current magicband. I will be allowed to make seven days of fastpasses even if I don't stay in a Disney resort.

Ok, I was actually thinking while I was posting that question if it might be a 60 day perk with the online check in or something. I guess I'll keep messing with it and see how this looks in another 2 weeks! :)

That error will also occur if you don't have valid ticket media assigned to your accounts. Each guest needs to have a ticket before they can make FP+ reservations. This shouldn't be a problem if you booked a package, but if your reservation was room only you would need to add the tickets before you can book FP+.

Even though everything else with our magic bands experience was a nightmare, the fastpass + part worked great.
Another side note, while we were checking in, a family next to us asked for cards as well as bands and was told they could have them, but they could not be used for fastpasses. We had them in our package, but we were afraid to try and use them because we were afraid it would somehow mess up our fp+ selections. I know it's been said on here many times, but make sure and carry your hard tickets if you have them along with the bands.

Hmm. Did you try reading the terms and conditions? It's the new wave in planning a theme park vacation in the 21st Century. I bet the 60-day rule is clearly spelled out in there somewhere:

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/media/park-experience-terms-and-conditions.html

Have a magical time planning your vacation!
No. I didn't read all that, and I thought maybe I needed to wait till the 60 day mark, but I also heard you had to wait till the 60 day mark to do the bands too, so I thought maybe I caught a glitch or something in the system that let me do it a little early. Its no biggie, I'll just check again in a couple weeks, just with all the bugs I keep hearing about with the system, I was just checking on here to make sure I wasn't falling into one of the problems. :)

@ratherbeinwdw do you think come February I will still be able to ask for the cards when I check into my resort? Or are they trying to weed out the cards and just have bands after the new year?

We had the bands but fast pass + didn't always work. Our cards worked for regular fp but we were asked several times not to get them. It won't mess up you fastpass+, they just would rather you not use both.
I also think this depends on the cm

Lol. I was being sarcastic with my post. I haven't read them either, nor do I think we should have to. Why the website simply doesn't tell you that you can only reserve in that 60-day timeframe as opposed to getting this cryptic "must be within a user's selection window" message makes no sense to me.

Planning a simple theme park vacation is going to be challenging in the 21st Century.

I happen to like the old system, I wish places like Cedar Point up here by my home would start using a system like that. So I really hope there isn't any screw ups with these when I get down there. I hate reading posts almost everyday where someone says the fp+ didn't work for one reason or another.

@sparky03 I figured you were. I did have to read it twice though. Lol. but yea, I booked my trip somewhere around the 190 day mark, and I have been quite confused on A LOT of occasions up to my original post. Andit seems like its just gonna get worse as time goes on. I can only imagine how horribe it will be to plan a WDW trip for my daughter in another 20yrs.
