Does anyone here have the fast pass app for their iPhone. I was just wondering how well it worked. Also has anyone really bought fast passes.

As far as I know there isn't an app for iOS that is designed specifically for fastpasses. I would suspect this is a feature that will happen sooner or later as the technology just begs for it. There are disney apps out there (some better than others) I would suggest touringplans.com app, very accurate wait times.

If you dont have an iPhone, VZW offers an app for other devices. AT&T does not have anything app wise related to Disney.

Im not sure about the Android operating system. I dont work for them.

If you search the App store in iTunes for "ride swap" or "fastpass", you'll find the app. It's called "Ride Swap" and allows people in the parks to trade, give away or sell FP tickets to other people in the park with the app.

I haven't downloaded it so I don't know if it's popular enough to be worth having. But it's free, so maybe I will give it a run.

If Disney catches someone selling FPs using the app I don't know what their reaction would be but I'm guessing it would be negative. :lookaroun

Yikes doesn't sound good or in the spirit of what FASTPASS is for. I would stay well clear.

I see no problem in giving someone fastpasses or swapping them...there really is nothing damaging there if you are helping someone out. Selling them is wrong though since that will have people grabbing them just to profit which is not what the system is for.

As soon as you start organized swapping and trading, it's just a short step to selling. I even have a problem with just the swapping on an organized level. Giving a FP away in the park to a stranger for a slot that you can't make is one thing, but having an entire system devoted to it is another. You'll soon have the situation where people are obtaining FPs for attractions that they have no intention of riding, just to have stocks to swap, which in turn will deny people who really want to ride that attraction from getting a FP.

This is very interesting.

I don't see this being a huge problem in the parks. Assuming it is just for swapping. Selling fastpasses is a no no though. I understand the issue of stocking up on FastPasses just for the intention of swapping, but if those fastpasses do get swapped and used, who does that really hurt?

It hurts people not using the app. If I arrive at 10am, I can't get a FP for a popular ride because they have all been grabbed by people with the intention of trading with them. That can't be fair?

But what would be the purpose of doing this? You can only hold 1 fastpass per ticket for a set period of time. It's not like you could go grab 10 fastpasses for Space Mountain then trade them for Splash, BTMRR, Soarin, ect...

I guess if you were being nitpicky, you could have a problem with someone grabbing a FP for Splash on the way out of MK, and trading with someone leaving Epcot for a Soarin FP. But we are talking such small numbers of people doing this, it really can't have an impact.

I totally agree with you all. Selling something that you give no money for is wrong. I know in the past I would give my unused fast passes away if I couldn't use them. I have the app but have not used it yet. I was just curious to know if anyone really would buy one.

Very true. I was thinking of it on the innocent level. I have a fastpass for Test Track but we already rode it so maybe someone out there wants to swap for Soarin. In that regard I honestly never thought of strategic swapping...which I agree would not be good.

I am all for tech. stuff......but this seems like it's going to have the potential to cause an unheaval in FP down the road..This borders on the rediculous....

I have given away FP before in the parks , it was fun to see their faces when they got a FP available for immediate use to a certain attraction.

The world has suddenly become addicted to hand held devices...

Yeah you are right, on the innocent level there is no problem, but as we know, everything these days turns into strategic planning, and people are going to exploit this to the hilt if it gets going.
