Farming n' stuff

Any professional farmers around here?

I'm 100% not a farmer, but I do have an addiction to Farming Simulator, which has really gotten me into tractors and gear.

Always wanted to know how accurate (if at all) the game prices were for certain crops, fertilizers, machines, equipment, livestock, etc...

Plus if a bunch of farmers just start talking shop in here, I'd enjoy vicariously reading.

I live in NE Pennsylvania about one mile from about 500 acres of fruit and vegetable farms. I can't understand how I can go to their fresh veggie stand in the summer and get some great sweet corn for $3.00 a dozen or 3 voluptuous fat juicy tomatoes for $2.00. I don't know how they do it. I see all the totes of chemicals they have stored and the equipment they use is huge. They're in those fields starting in May from around 5:00 AM till 6:00 PM, and others from their family are working the sales of fruit and veggies. The manpower involved seems outrageous let alone the technology and equipment they need to continually invest in.
