I'm not a board moderator, so I know my opinion doesn't matter. But the type of posts I always skip over and ignore on these forums are the ones in which Armchair Imagineers throw out wild ideas that have little basis in reality.
Just for a fun discussion, here are some of the wild attraction ideas, and the reality behind them.
* MOVE ATTRACTION X FROM ONE THEME PARK TO ANOTHER--- This has only been done twice on a major scale, more than 30 years ago: Carousel of Progress from DL to WDW and Mickey Mouse Revue from WDW to TDL. (Disney has swapped a few films with other parks, such as Wonders of China from Epcot to DL and Magic Journeys from Epcot to MK). Moving CoP to Epcot or Tomorrowland Speedway to DHS is highly unlikely.
* BRING BACK AN EXTINCT ATTRACTION--- This has never been done. The closest would be the revival of Captain EO, but that required little new construction. (The DL Submarines were brought back from the dead, but that's only because they did not destroy the vehicles like 20K. And it's nowhere near the original attraction). Bringing back Toad or Horizons? Forget it.
* COMPLETELY RETHEME EXISTING RIDE: The only time an entirely new ride has been overlaid on an existing ride is If You Had Wings/Dreamflight/Buzz Lightyear. In all other cases, the original ride system was gutted first (Toad for Pooh). That makes the "retheme Snow White into another dark ride" idea also unlikely. (Obviously some shows like 3D movies or Alien Encounter/Stitch have had overlays)
*MAKE RIDE X LONGER--- The only time an existing ride track has been lengthened is when the SeaCabs were converted into Nemo. Even then, there were so many other changes it probably should be classified as an entirely new ride. Adding length to Jungle Cruise or Kali River Rapids has no precedent.
Anything I'm missing?
Obviously these examples still show that Armchair Imagineer ideas are still possible...just very very unlikely.
