I just found out. Legendary hockey coach Herb Brooks died today in a car crash. He was the one who coached the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" US Olympic Hockey Team. He also coached several NHL franchises, including my Penguins. He was currently working player development for us. The hockey world has lost an icon. He was a great motivator and an inspirational leader. His legacy will be in leading a group of kids against the greatest team in the world and acheiving the greatest American sports victory of all time. May he rest in peace.
