Fantasyland planters

Just a question regarding the fantasyland work - I can't really find an answer for this in the actual thread. Why are they removing every single (it seems) planter in Fantasyland? It looks kind of open and barren, and I haven't find an answer as to why most of them are being removed? too much maitenance or something? It just looks odd being so open and empty. Just curious.

The Castle Walls, the thematic boundary between new and old Fantasyland, will run from Pinocchio's Village Haus, through the present Dumbo site, to around where Storybook Treats is. Thus, the planters have been systematically removed, and I agree, it looks really barren. The finished project will look very nice, though.
