After being replaced for New Year's Eve in 2019 by Mickey's Mix Magic, Fantasy in the Sky has made its triumphant return to The Happiest Place on Earth with soundtrack changes, removing Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah from the opening fanfare and finale and replacing it with a rendition of When You Wish Upon A Star.

Opening and finale fanfare of new version sounds more darker and edgier than original, reminds me pre-Hallowishes Fantasy in the Sky Halloween finale at the MK.

Additionally, finale rendition of When you Wish Upon a Star was directly taken from Kiss Goodnight finale at the MK (without singing choir), where the part itself directly taken from A Disney Spectacular Disney Fantasy Medley II composed by Erich Kunzel.

I will look forward to watching this new Fantasy In The Sky from my deck when I return home to OC!

Fantasy In The Sky always looked better from afar. The more modern shows with plotlines and Castle effects often look great in the park, but from afar or outside the park there are many long dead spots that make it seem like something broke, or they couldn't light the fuses. 🤣

When you are hosting a dinner party in hillside OC, it's often a fun flourish to serve a flaming dessert at the moment the Disneyland fireworks begin outside the dining room windows.
