Hello everyone! I have a question!
I have been to disney world 3 times 1993,1999 and 2002 and I saw fantasmic in 99 and 2002 and I could swear they have shortened it since 99. this past year
the only characters to float by in the floating float was beauty and the beast and The little mermaid and Eric, but I can swear that there were more characters in it then those 4 in 1999. Am I imagining things? Or is this so? and if so WHY?

The other ones are Snow White and the Prince.

If a performer calls in, and they can't find a replacement, they just down that unit, rather than the show. Another possibility is a broken barge.

There are a lot of specifics in running fantasmic, it isn't an uncommon occurence if something is missing

I saw fantasmic a few weeks ago, and the head segment of the snake wasn't there, and since there was no head, the body didn't move. So mickey was running around in circles running away from a snake that wasn't chasing him.

The show has always been the same length. The entire show is choreographed around the musical score, which does not change. Even if particular show elements aren't available that night, the score remains the same.

Depending on the importance of the show element, they either just leave it out or replace it with a backup effect. Unlike many stage shows, where the stage manager can cut brief parts or add extra musical passages to accomodate the action on the stage, Fantasmic is set to a static musical score and the action must take place around that.

It's common for one of the three barges not to make an appearance during one of their sections. From what I've been told, the actors who are on the barges also play other characters, and the most common reason for a barge not to go on show is because someone didn't make a costume change in time and missed the cue.

we just saw fantasmic for the first time last fall and if i remember correctly, there were several barges that came through with characters on them, and i think they came from both sides... i would say there were at least 4 total, if not more...

Another debate we had while watching Fantasmic was:

Didn't they used to have spinnning fireworks on Mickey's Riverboat during the finale?

I said yes....partner said no.

Do I have to buy dinner next visit?????

Thanx in advance for your reply!

Yes, there are normally spinning fireworks on the steamboat, but this is an effect that is frequently left out.

There are three barges in the show. Two come from one direction, one comes from the other.
