Fantasmic! viewing vs. WoC viewing?

Ok experts - is it "worth" paying extra for the speicial seating for Fantasmic! and/or World of Color?

Pros/Cons?

You don't have to pay extra for WoC seating. You simply need to reserve at Carthay Circle (and there's another restaurant...can't recall it off the top of my head right now) and order either one Appetizer and One Entree or one Entree and one Dessert per person in your party.

For Fantasmic seating, it is not worth it.

60 bucks for small dessert pieces, cheese and a chair? NO. Not worth it for me.

For World of Color, just see the second showing and you'll have a nice spot, unless you'd like to eat at the table restaurants.

Ugh, 60 bucks? Is it really that much? Good grief. Disney was smart in making our Fantasmic in WDW with seating, lol. I think they have some sort of dessert package in WDW too, but definitely not worth it.

We're doing all sit downs. Do you guys think that getting the dessert package is better than having to stand in line and wait? We start booking tomorrow.

That's part of the special thing about DL's Fantasmic!... It comes from nowhere and it's like you're supposed to stumble on it, hence its location and no chairs. One can always sit on the ground, but you have to get there early.

There's no line for Fantasmic!. You just show up and grab a spot to sit down or stand. Sixty dollars ain't worth it.

For the second part, I meant World of Color. Sorry, I wasn't clear! My fault. Is it worth it to book the viewing for World of Color?
There's no way it's worth it for Fantasmic. We still haven't decided whether to do it or not. I'm so short that the last time I watched part of it but could barely see, so we moved on. I have grown precisely one inch since then. So we'd have to get there pretty early to get a front spot.

The key to World of Color is seeing the second viewing. You can get a great spot of you see the second showing. No need to pay extra, I just wouldn't.

We got FP's for WoC early and got front and center blue (I think) section. But we didn't use them because it was cold and we didn't want to get splashed by the fountains. So we moved up across from TLM attraction at the top of the steps and it was great.

We saw the second showing of Fantasmic and were a couple rows of people back and a tree blocked part of the stage. I don't enjoy the Fant! viewing at DL or WDW but the dragon made up for it.

This was also during the spring break crowds last year (2012)

She's going in the summer. They will have two showings.

Ah, I must have missed that. Planning out Fantasmic and WoC were a huge issue for me going in Feb, as they don't publish the final Show Schedules until very close (30 days, iirc) to travel dates.

You guys plan way too much for the DLR, LOL. I know it's hard not to plan, coming from a WDW perspective, but it's really not necessary for Disneyland. That's why schedules are released only days in advance.

Hah! Well, that's exactly where I got it from! I'm used to WDW!

But yeah, my general experience, now having done it, is that there really isn't much planning required. Two other lessons I learned...

Totally not worth paying the premium price and staying on property (rather, just stay at one of the many Partner resorts and use ART or just walk...it's not that far...I wish I'd done the Anabella, as I originally planned).

Park hoppers are nice at WDW, but not needed. But for DLC, I'd HIGHLY recommend it.

All that being said, the only way to learn is to try it out for yourself! <grin>

True, you'll never know until you've experienced it yourself.

Bravo, make sure to tell all your WDW friends that. DON'T STAY ONSITE. It's ridiculously overpriced and some of the offsite hotels are even closer than the onsite ones.

We paid for the Fantasmic seating last summer. There is no doubt the seats were great (people without these seats lined up early for the show), but we wont be doing that again this summer. Im not an expert by any means about whats normal for the show though. As far as WOC, we did the dining option for that and it was worth it. the viewing spot was great!!! We will be doing this again this summer!!

Totally agree!!!! The "desserts" dont come close to whats offered at the Wishes Dessers Party at the MK if you are familiar with that, and at half the price.
I do have to admit though, the DL Fantasmic is head and shoulders better than the Fantasmic at HS.

No way! Sixty dollars for a square dessert that can fit in the palm of my hand... That is absurd. Almost no one pays for it either. That section is usually always empty haha. They need to get a clue.

Yeah, for the price...dessert party...not worth it.

However, I do think, considering that preferred seating for WoC is free (assuming you care to eat at one of the participating table service restaurants and follow their ordering guidelines) that it is worth it.
