Has anyone tried the "Fantasmic on VHS" video listed on eBay?
I'd like to hear any opinions on if it's as good as the eBay feedback says. It sounds too good to be true. Thanks for any help.

The Holiday trimmings are going up at Disneyland, so be sure and visit!!!

If it dosn't have the Disney label on it, stay away. Your supporting somone who films it in the stands. And it might just be a scam, getting fake accounts to boost your raiting.

Got a chance to see it. I would have to admit that it looks good, but send an e-mail to the quoted people and think twice. Also, ask what the return pollice (SP?) is.

No. recorded it myself (from the stands !!!) and pretty good it is too. Take advice - If it doesn't say Disney on the label, then its not Disney (quality) in the box !

E-mailing eBayers to get their opinions on the tape sounds like a great route to go. Thanks for the idea and suggestion.

If there were a Fantasmic! tape with the Disney label on it, I'd have one. Unfortunately there isn't one, and after speaking with several Disney employees, there likely won't ever be one. That kind of narrows the options for those of us who are Fantasmic! nuts.

Yes. Despite the location change, the biggestest differnce is that many new sceans were added and taken away for the WDW version, like the Peter Pan fight sequence.

Fantasmic! video

O.K., After some effort, I was able to speak via e-mail with numerous successful bidders for the "Fantasmic! on VHS" item listed on eBay. I was convinced, and now I have my own tape, and am happy as a clam! What a treat to be able to watch Fantasmic! whenever I want. Initially, I thought the cost was a bit high, but when I saw the quality of the item, and factored in the cost of shipping, I think it's a fair deal. Thanks for the input.

Happy Holidays everyone!

I am sorry to say I have not had the pleasure to see Disneyland's Fantasmic when I went this year. It had closed already. But from what I hear it sounds to be as good, if not better, than WDW's.

It takes place on the rivers of america, Tom Sawyers Island, I guess. They used the Mark Twain and the Sailing Ship Columbia, which explains the riverboat at the end of WDW's Fantasmic. I can see this fitting in better at Disneyland, since they use the actual Mark Twain instead of a prop boat.

Fantasmic! return?

Well, at long last the Rivers of America are being re-filled, but according to a Disneyland source, Fantasmic! is not scheduled to return until June 2003. Unfortunately for me, I won't be able to visit then, so I feel extra fortunate to have gotten my video off of eBay. Here's wishing you all an opportunity to see the return of Fantasmic! in June. TTFN!

Fantasmic! returns!

At long last!

According to the Disneyland website, Fantasmic! is back on the regular schedule on July 3, 2003. Fortunately, the long dry spell should soon be over!

Fantasmic! returns the same?

Fantasmic! has now been back showing at Disneyland for several days, and I was hoping that someone familiar with Fantasmic! of old, and who has seen Fantasmic! returned, could tell me if there are any changes? I'm curious if my souvenir tape is still current. Thanks much for any and all input. TTFN

Ursula ever coming back?

It's been years since the Ursula float/robot was a part of Disneyland's Fantasmic! I had assumed that it broke and Disney did not want to make the investment to fix/replace it. Will that aspect of the show ever return? I would like to hope so, as it was a unique aspect that I used to enjoy seeing.

I doubt it will return. I've read (don't recall where now) that it wasn't just the mechanical problems that made them stop using it, although that was a big part. I guess the driver for that float often had trouble getting to his spot in time because s/he also drove another float right before it, and had to get out, run across the island, and get onto the Ursula float in time and often didn't make it. Seems easily fixable to me if you add another driver to the crew, but I'm not sure they'd want to spend the money, in addition to having to fix the mechanical problems.
