Fantasmic on the DDP

I just checked on the WDW site and it lists on this page what is included in the meal at each venue

Additionally I have a ADR for this June and when I looked at it it said that DDP was accepted - 1 credit. IMO you should get the same choices as someone paying OOP.
I'll be using TiW which is not accepted, but I can still use if we get any alcohol.

It's a great deal, because it's just the same number of credits as a normal meal (so 1 TS credit at Mama Melrose's and Hollywood and Vine, and 2 at Brown Derby). Then you do get all the inclusions of the package (including the appetizer), and the reserved seating.

I've done the Fantasmic dining package - you cannot use a DDP credit for this special dining. I had to pay out of pocket, which was okay since I used the extra TS credit for CRT.
From the DDP 2015 Brochure:
Note: Certain items are not included in the Disney Dining Plan such as:
• Alcoholic Beverages
• Items that are more than a single serving (such as a box of doughnuts or a jar of peanut butter)
• Items (such as popcorn or drinks) that are served in a Souvenir Container
• Items that are sold from Recreation Rental Counters
• Items that are considered Merchandise (such as Bottle Toppers, Glow Cubes and Bottle Straps)
• Special Dining Events with special menus offered at certain Table-Service locations
I realize it's not clear on the page for the dining package, so I would call Disney Dining to double check. If something wasn't allowed in the past, especially for DDP, Disney doesn't usually suddenly add it, especially if it's DDP related.
You can BOOK the dining package through the ADR system, but you will have to pay CASH for your meal. As I previously posted, I've done the Fantasmic! dining package and had to pay out of pocket instead of using one of my TS dining credits. But like I also said, call Disney Dining to make sure, just in case things changed.
And the info you included refers to what the Fantasmic! dining package offers, not the DDP.....

Nothing on that page mentions using a DDP credit for the Fantasmic! Dining package. And the 2015 DDP brochure excludes special dining events. Like I've said several times, I done the Fantasmic! dining package while on the DDP and had to pay out of pocket - we ate at Hollywood & Vine. But like I've also said, Disney may have changed their policy and now allow DDP credits to be used for this dining package. But the best thing is to call Disney Dining to make sure.

I've done it myself several times myself over the years (as early as 2009 and as recent as 2013)- you shouldn't have had to pay out of pocket! I've also booked it for numerous people who have had no problem using it- as recently as late 2014.
Disney's website used to specifically show where it was included- but I see it doesn't list it anymore. I'm not going to link to the other sites- but other large sources still list it as an option with the DDP (all of the options that come up when you google "fantasmic dinner package disney dining plan").

Which is why I've said several times now to CALL Disney Dining for clarification. The page for the Fantasmic! Dining package doesn't mention the use of DDP TS credits to pay for your meal. It does, however, list the price of the meal at the participating restaurants. The 2015 DDP brochure states that you cannot use DDP credits for special dining packages at selected restaurants, which is also unclear since IT doesn't list the excluded dining.
My comments are based on my experience. But as I've also said several times, Disney may now allow you to use a TS credit or 2, depending on which restaurant you select, as payment for the package. Just because you've got the DDP for an upcoming trip and was able to book a reservation for the Fantasmic package, doesn't mean that DDP will pay for it. But if it will, that's fantastic.
That's excellent! I stand corrected and pleasantly. Wish that was the case when we had the package. And that needs to be clearly indicated on the page listing the restaurants and the pricing.

That's exactly what I was looking for @piglet21 . Thanks! I knew it had been listed on Disney's site before when you go to make reservations. I couldn't find it just now.

It's worth a nice letter to Guest Relations. You never know...
And the receipt will show the name of our server. Now I'm a little ed. It was made clear when I called to make the reservation that DDP credits couldn't be used. And I asked again at the restaurant. Time to start digging through piles of Disney credit card receipts. I save everything from our trips, including the check in package. Must be the accountant in me. lol
Just remembered something else. When I made our reservation for CRT for the same trip, I was thinking "okay CRT takes 2 TS credits per person, which will be okay because I have to pay OOP for the Fantasmic! package". Hey, is Iger still there? I need to speak with him....
