I think the best spot for Fantasmic (Fantasmique, maybe?) should be in Disneyland Paris, if for no other reason than to put it in a castle park, like at Disneyland. However, as the show would take place in the middle of the Rivers of the Far West, where much of Big Thunder Mountain takes place, that ride might have to be shut down for the duration. On the other hand, it might be a wonderful opportunity for different staging for Mickey and some different scenes for this version. We could also mix and match for this version, such as maybe getting the Mark Twain Riverboat involved in the show (as part of the finale, of course). Also, for some reason, I really want to have the dancing bubbles scene in the show, which is seen in Florida, but maybe with different movies thrown in.

What are your thoughts?

Well the beginning will be like California and Florida's version while the scene with the villains will use the scene of Mickey in the magic mirror from tokyo. New scenes will be use in this version.

I think our Paris's equivalent to the Lion King/Jungle Book scene should be based off of either Dinosaur or Brother Bear.

I actually think a Dinosaur puppets could be kinda cool. I do feel that Lion King should be represented, but in a different way than it is in Fl. Maybe have the sun rising on a water screen in the middle and then on two side water screens show silloettes of animals raising their heads and the a Pride Rock float with Rafiki holding baby Simba out to the crowd with Circle of Life playing over the speakers.

I'm not sure about having "Dinosaur" in there. Who really remembers it besides us Disney nuts?

And I thought they did kind of represent "The Lion King" in your view as they do in Japan.

Fun brainstorming -- but it will never happen at DLP....

First, and foremost, the weather is only nice there for about three months each summer -- otherwise, it snows, its cold, the attraction blows water/mist across the audience, and it would be 100% misery, 0% enjoyment for most of the year.

Second, there really isn't anywhere they could currently do it without completely building a new lagoon/pond for it. They could do it, but the parks can't afford anything major like that.

Third -- and this is where the brainstorming has to go if you are serious about it: DLP only has Internationally Recognizable characters -- that means, you can't have any characters in a show that audiences of multiple languages wouldn't instantly recognize...not every Disney movie has been translated into French, Italian, German, Spanish (although most biggies have of course)...They would have ZERO idea of who Brother Brer is, for example -- although Lion King is very popular overseas....

BUT -- and this is a big but --

Fourth -- DLP is designed in such a way that many of its guests, even those staying in the resorts, go into Paris at night rather than hanging out in the parks or Disney Village. A nighttime attraction like Fantasmic would be three quarters empty every night. Also: there is a noise ordinance in Marne le Vallee which means they can not have any types of fireworks or loud noises after a certain hour (it used to be 8 pm although might have changed)...can't imagine a Fantasmic without a great sound system and fire effect.
