Who knew TinkerBell was part of the Fantasmic finale'?!
Everyone knows, now that the new digital projectors have been installed in Disneyland's Fantasmic! show. Fantasmic! returned from a two month rehab this weekend, and the new digital projectors have brought a level of clarity, sharpness and brightness that had been missing since 1992 with the old 70mm film projectors.
This is the type of thing that can't even begin to have justice served via YouTube, but here's a decent attempt at capturing the new imagery visible from the digital age that Fantasmic! has just entered this weekend. This video caught some of the short technical glitches from the first night, like the brief freezes in the projections, and a quick "color bar" test pattern that appeared on Friday...

I saw the show Saturday night and it was flawless, with none of the freezes or test patterns from the Friday debut. But my gosh were those projections clear and crisp and lifelike! The flowers in the beginning, and TinkerBell at the end were especially well done. But all of that footage just looks so crisp and amazing now! Bravo Disneyland for continuing to invest in new technology for this wonderful show year after year! :sohappy:
I can't wait to see what they can do in this digital age with the much larger water screens for DCA's upcoming new World of Color show!
