On a night where DHS runs two showings of Fantasmic which showing is the Dinner Package valid for ? How is it decided - is it down to the time that the guest dines or does the guest decide which showing they want to see ?

Fantasmic packages are only for the first show 
. Even if there are 2 shows, Disney doesn't give you the option.

As this person stated, it is always for the first show. We are doing in in Nov. and will be eating dinner at 3:45pm for the 6:30pm Fantasmic.

One year we sat right next to people who had the dining package and the "special seating". They wanted to know which place we ate at. We didn't, we just walked up and were directed, like normal, by the cast member to sit.
Needless to say the people were not happy that they paid extra to have this "special seating" and did not need to.
Just get there early, way early, and you will get great seats. BTW, early to me is one hour.

If there are 2 shows you must go to the earlier one and if not, you obviously just go to the show they offer. Also they don't allow you to eat any later then 5pm I believe if you want to get the package.
... We always do the fantasmic package when we go because we love eating at Mama Melrose anyway and it saves us having to get to Fantasmic early and wait all that time!
