Fantasmic Dinner Package in January

Just thought others might want to know I spoke with Disney Dining this morning and the CM I spoke with said he expected the Fantasmic Dinner Package to be extended in it's present form past Dec 31st, 2002. He recommended I keep calling this week because I want to book for the end of January. I guess the new format must be a success.

The format sounds quite good, my biggest complaint (which will stop us from using the package) is how far to the right the seating area is. Now if they did the package, with guaranteed seating in the centre section (numbered seats for each member in the party) then it would be worth it.

We did it last spring break and the seats we had were just fine. With two ansty kids it was well worth it to us to avoid a long wait since we wanted to eat at the Brown Derby anyway.

I thought you could only sign up for this

a) one week before you intend to go and
b) in person, at the park

Am I wrong or thinking about something else?

We're going to WDW in mid-January and I was thinking of signing us up for that.

The Fantasmic Dinner Package used to be as you said, but they have changed it. Here's a link that will give you all the details. I haven't had a chance to call back to see if they are taking reservations yet past 12/31/02 but the CM indicted that they intend to extend this new version of the Fantasmic Dinner Package.

Be prepared. The package is only for the 6 p.m. showing ONLY. You either eat prior to the show or after. Remember to find out when the park closes that particular night. Some nights they only have one show (6) and on late nights 2 shows (6 and 8) which means the park closes later so you can eat after the show. We were going to go that route, but we decided to do it ourselves. Dinner reservations were for 5:30 at the Brown Derby and we hung around for the 8 p.m. show and waited on line. We were in the middle, half way up. Perfect view. Hope you have fun.

Thanks, Lilo for the heads up. It looks like there will just be one show when we are there at 7pm so we will probably go for it. We also enjoyed going in the back way to the Fantasmic Theatre.

Missing Fantasmic is DH's and my only regret about our WDW trip last week - we always meant to make it over there, but we were always so dang tired by the end of the day.

Hopefully, we'll make it next year.

You must make time for Fantasmic next trip. But that's the great thing about WDW, there's always something awesome to do on the next trip. I don't think you can ever feel like you've done it all. Last year we didn't make it to Illuminations so this time I've reserved an Illuminations Cruise as a surprise for the family. Now if I can just keep my mouth shut! :animwink:

You're absolutely right! I've already started making a list of what we need to do ... the luau at the Poly, Fantasmic, and hopefully seeing ALL the countries at Epcot!

I see you're staying at the Contemp in January - we just got back from their and loved it! I was getting worried after reading so many negative reviews of the place - but you can't beat the Contemp for convienence, big rooms and that wonderful monorail buzzing through!
