Fantasmic Dessert Seating

I just came across some info about the Fantasmic dessert reserved seating thing.

Has anyone here done it?
How early do reservations need to made...and how?

It seems VERY pricey, but I will be taking Mom and Dad who cannot sit on the ground for 2 hours waiting for the show to start like I had to do last time I was there, so I think it might be worth it.

Any thoughts, comments, suggestions would be appreciated!

The countdown to September is on!!!!

we just made reservations

We're going to DLR over the July 4th weekend. Reservations for the Fantasmic Dessert preferred seating (either at the disney gallery or on the riverside) can be made 30 days prior by calling (714) 781-4400 at 8:00am pacific time.

I just called yesterday (June 2nd) to reserve seating on the balcony at the disney gallery right at 8am, and got the last two seats-- so evidently it's very popular. BTW: the total for the two seats was $106.

I'm sure the July 4th weekend will be packed, so that may not be indicative of crowds in september, but I'm not sure I'd chance it.

Thanx Rob!

Have you ever done the dessert seating before?

I was wondering exactly what it is like.

If you don't mind sharing....what made you decide to book it?

If the reservation windo wis only 30 days out, then I have some time before I decide yet. It just seems so expensive and I can find so little info about it.

Though I would do it in a heartbeat if I thought it was the best way to see Fantasmic, as I am bringing my Mom and Dad to DL for a surprise anniversary trip and they probably would not do too well sitting around on the sidewalk for a couple hours saving a seat for the show!

Thanks!

glad to help!

I've never been to DLR before -- we live in Tampa, Florida and generally spend every other weekend over at WDW, but this year decided that it would be a good time to go out to California for a week and see the original for a bit.

Since I expect that I won't be going back to DLR anytime soon after this trip, I wanted to make it as "special" as possible. So I asked around; the Disney Gallery viewing of Fantasmic came fairly highly recommended (provided you were willing to spend the money)-- evidently it is dead center with a great view, and you've got a "reserved" seat as opposed to having to fight the crowds for a seat on the sidewalk or whatever. The wife likes the idea of being able to eat chocolate while watching the show too.

Since we're also going over the 4th of July and I expect the crowds to be heavy, we're also springing for preferred seating/tours to see the Parade of Dreams, the Electric Parade, as well as Remember! on the 4th.

Basically, for us, this is probably a "once in a lifetime" thing, so we're forking over the cash to make the most of it.

Hey ROBHEDIN!

Just wondering if you could share your experience with the Fantasmic Dessert if you are still lingering around here??

I booked it yesterday as soon as the office opened and got 4 seats for a Saturday night show.

What did you think of it?

The cost was pretty steep, but it was an easy decision for me to make this time. Just wondered what your experience was!

Thanx!

Sure I'm here!

First of all, we enjoyed the heck out of all of the preferred seating things we did-- Fantasmic dessert seating, Main Street Electrical Parade seating, as well as seating for Remember and the Parade of dreams (the fireworks seating was choice-- since it was for the 4th of july show).

As far as the Fantasmic dessert package was concerned...

We had seating for the 2nd showing of Fantasmic, and caught the fireworks just before from the hub area; getting over to the Disney Gallery was a bit of a problem, and while we did make it in time it was not fun fighting the crowds.

We were the last to arrive, and our seats were on the far left hand side, next to the rail; this provided a spectacular view of the show, being dead center; others on the balcony were standing to get a better vantage point, but we were able to sit throughout comfortably.

They served several types of cake, including a raspberry cheese cake, as well as several types of finger cookies, cheese, crackers, and fruit (the fruit was very popular and mighty tasty). Coffee, tea, and soda was served. Everything served was very good.

There was plenty of time to get a plate full before the show, and most people were able to make two or three trips. They did start to clear the table during the show, however they were very circumspect and unobtrusive about it. After the show there was time to linger about the gallery for a bit to let the crowds thin out before heading back to the resort.

We're from Florida and spend a lot of time over at WDW, but have never been fond of the Fantasmic! show over at the studios- it's ok but I just don't think it's good enough to warrant the 1.5-2 hour wait to get reasonable seats.

However... both of us absolutely loved Fantasmic! at DL, and both agree that we'd love to come back and see it again (we even went so far as to upgrade to premium annual passes before we left to give us a nudge to come back!), and both of us agree that when we do go back, we will try to get seating at the Disney Gallery again.

I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Thanx Rob!

I got the first seating, so hopefully we wont have the crowd problem you mentioned.

Also, I heard they let the first group watch the fireworks from up there, too, before the second group comes up. Not sure how the view will be, but it will certainly be different if they still do that!

Thanx again for the info! I'll be sure to let you know how we made out! I am getting so psyched now that all the reservations are made!

LET THE COUNTDOWN CONTINUE!!!

Cool! I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Let me know what the fireworks are like from up there-- if you've not seen them, they are a treat. We usually watched from main street or the hub to make sure we could see everything, although the crowds were heavy (much like Wishes, it's kind of designed to be seen from the "front" so everyone heads there). The view from the Grand Californian is very nice as well (if you've got a room 4th floor+ facing downtown disney), and they pipe the music into the Concierge lounge.

I think they're only running the FW show on Friday and Saturday nights in September so don't miss them!
