A beloved animation hero dips his beak into new worlds of adventure in Darkwing Duck: Just Us Justice Ducks — a new collection of awesome 1980s-90s comics inspired classic Disney afternoon cartoons. To celebrate the release next week, we’re delighted to offer a sneak peek at a few pages from “Part Two” from our friends at Fantagraphics, featuring the Masked Mallard himself as well as appearances from some of his most villainous foes and valuable allies, including Launchpad, Gosalyn, Gizmoduck, Morgana and more.

From the pages of Disney Adventures and its sister magazines come much-requested feature-length thrillers! In Just Us Justice Ducks, Darkwing Duck and DuckTales‘ Gizmoduck are called to action when the Fearsome Five — Negaduck, Megavolt, Liquidator, Bushroot and Quackerjack — successfully take over St. Canard! Then Goofy and Max take a trip on the open road… far from Max’s beloved Roxanne, but into the clutches of a Bigfoot in the original comics adaptation of A Goofy Movie! Then in “The Legend of the Chaos God,” an evil spirit named Solego is trapped in a priceless gem… and wreaks havoc on Cape Suzette, Duckburg, and St. Canard. It’s up to the Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, Scrooge McDuck, Darkwing, and the TaleSpin crew to stop him! “…Everybody’s busy, bringing you a Disney Afternoon!”

Pop culture writers and children’s authors David Cody Weiss and Bobbi JG Weiss, featured in this volume, have scribed hundreds of books and comics featuring Disney, Warner Bros., and DreamWorks properties. In the early 1990s, they were also two of the most prolific talents in Disney Adventures magazine’s beloved early days.

Darkwing Duck: Just Us Justice Ducks – Disney Afternoon Adventures Vol. 1 goes on sale Tuesday, July 27, SRP $29.99. Let’s get dangerous!

wasn't Fantagraphics the one that had the long dragged-out lawsuit with The Mouse over reprinting some old underground "comix" Disney parodies?
