Fall Fantasy Package

Hi -
I have a rate for the Fall Fantasy package, that is cheaper than my Disney Club Resort Magic rate, but I give up the Flex features. I figure that I will not use very many features and the things that I want to do have DC discounts, anyway. The rate for 7 nights at the Boardwalk Inn (standard view) for 3 adults is $2643.48. AAA Fall Days with airfare (189/pperson) and shuttle transfers was $3294.52. Does anyone know the room specific rate for the Fall Fantasy or UPH tickets for 8 days? I am trying to save some money and make the best choise for the family.

Thanks for any insight!

Fall Fantasy

I wanted to compare the price of the room with the Fall Days package without airfare, transfers, and the tickets to see if a room only reservation would be more economical. Basically, I wanted to price everything separately, but it seems this is almost imposssible to do. thanks for your response.

You can ask CRO what the cost would be for just the room. The standard room rates for the Boardwalk Inn for a Standard View, King/2 Queens are:

Value Season: $ 289
Regular Season: $ 319
Peak Season: $ 379
Holiday Season: $ 434

Value season for 2002 is 1/1 - 2/13, 7/4 - 10/2, 11/3 - 12/19
Regular season for 2002 is 4/21 - 7/3, 10/3 - 11/2
Peak season for 2002 is 2/14 - 4/20
Holiday season for 2002 is 12/20 - 12/31

These are the rates from the Disney website.

I did the comparison thing for our trip last august. I priced the Discovery Magic thing and the just the room and admission. With Discovery Magic they give you 2 magical wishes a day which based on the package price is a little more than 75 dollars. Most of those wishes are used on food too. So they expect everyone...even kids to eat for 75 dollars a day?!? We decided that it would be a little more practical to just do a hotel and then get our own admission. The packages are usually a rip off.

We have found the same thing. We had a package for our honeymoon and we tracked all of our expenses and compared it to the package price. We saved $10 (oh boy!) but we ate more food than we would have normally since it was already paid for.

I did see a write up on the most expensive package once that showed that it was a good deal if (and only if) you are going to be really active and do lots of things like water skiing and parasailing, take a number of the tours, eat at mostly the expensive restaurants, and would have stayed at a deluxe hotel with concierge.

However, for a normal trip the packages usually are not the most cost effective. I priced a four night stay at AKL assuming that we would eat 3 meals a day and have dinners at Flying Fish, Jiko, Artist Point, and California Grill, go to see La Nouba and DisneyQuest. It was cheaper to go a la carte instead of using the packages.

And for our family we like the practical restaurants...so we would end up eating at places like Chef Mickeys and such. If we did two buffets a day that would be at the most 40 per person per day. That would mean we totally wasted 35 bucks. And since none of us would really do the water activities and things like that it would be a total waste.

I've done it both ways. If they are having a really great special with room rates and the airfare is cheap, i'd do it separatly. But I love the convenience of a package if it is economical.

I always do the resort magic. I don't want to waist my money with the discovery or deluxe (which are both very nice packages), because who knows if i'll use the magical wishes??? I got a good deal on the fall fantasy package! (doesn't hurt to work for AAA) Can't wait to be there in Sept!!! :sohappy:
