Fall Break Dates?

I was just on the Planning forum and I'm starting to regret making plans for September vacation to WDW because of the Free Dining and also because someone mentioned a Fall Break for southern schools. Anyone out there in the South know when the Fall break will probably land in September? Any help would be much appreciated

School is just underway in September. A quick google search for fall break 2018 shows most schools don't schedule a break until mid-October, if at all prior to Thanksgiving.

That's what I thought and in years past most schools in the North/Mid have their breaks then but I didn't factor in the Southern schools that go back before Labor Day.

The University of Tennessee's official Fall break is October 4-5, so there's not much of a break for colleges here in the South this year.

The county schools where I live here in South Central Tennessee is October 5th through 12th, so it appears October is the 'magic' month for Tennessee.

I work in a position where I work with school districts across the country, and it is honestly all over the place. There are a substantial amount of districts in the South that run on a "nine-week" term period. They will often have their fall break at the end of that time period. I've been seeing a lot of start dates during the week of 8/6, which puts fall break in October. This is far from a definitive answer though. I've seen some districts taking them the third and fourth week of September as well.

Either way, you should be fine! There isn't a perfect week to go, but you should be just fine then.

Right after Labor day has less crowds. Just cross your fingers there's not a hurricane nearby like last year

Friends of ours in NC have days around the weekend of October 27-28. My kids have off the 26th, so my wife is going to take them to visit those friends from NC for a girls weekend. You can guess where I'm headed.

I think @lentesta & the touring plans team looks at this stuff across a wide range of school districts.
