Couldn't agree more!!!!!!!!!!!! It's been popping up alot lately!!!!!!!!! If you see them are you reporting them?
This is the first I've seen. I'm a retired Fed, so it got my attention.

I'm afraid this is more than just the annoying spam we all trash - it is more scam. It was an attempt to obtain people's identity, and possibly abet in a criminal act. If one knowingly uses a false identity, it can be a Federal, State, or local violation, and very prosecutable.
It was reported, and removed.

Spam is usually auto generated and hard to stop. The moderators work hard to make sure that it is all removed as quickly as possible. Just report the posts to help them in finding it.

This...I'm sorry, I have nothing against you Bill, but this gets under my skin. Don't step into the internet without knowing anything about it.
You'll find that the users of the forum don't support it, and don't like it (as I think you've seen)...
Automated posts are hard to combat against, without making it severely difficult to post to the forum itself for general users.
(ok, the coming is a low blow, and not meant personally, but I had to go there) I wouldn't rush to judgement unless you've seen some illegal activity thread take hold and have staying power. Otherwise, there are other things your federal buddies who are still on the payroll could be doing, like reading Russian advisory warnings for potential terror suspects, but I guess the drones couldn't get them, so best to troll a Disney forum looking for illegal activity.
It's simple to report a post to the mods, and they will gladly clear it out, I am very sure (and I don't even know the mods).
This is no different than IRC...if you are an ex Fed who worked in cyber law enforcement, you should be quite familiar with IRC, and enforcement with IRCOps.
If you are just someone who thinks that this forum may be a venue for illegal activity, I suggest you take it to the Mods, who like Ops in IRC, will be more than willing to help you out.

I ask that you forgive me, I've been on the internet a long time (since the late 80s)...so it's not news to me.

A well meant one. I was a bit snotty.
I think what annoys me is that there are those who are "new" to the net (a huge following) due to facebook and such, and it really makes me upset, as I'm watching my community of friends grow old (they are mostly in their 50s or older now) and die off...
If you've never been to an internet funeral, it's something to check out (as long as you knew the guy)...and it makes me feel old.
So, I get defensive. Sorry if I shot off prematurely at you...but that's where it comes from...
I understand completely - the same way I feel when fellow badge/
credential carriers grow old and pass. Have known quite a few, after 30 years in that business. And, the list gets longer!

Agreed! I just wanted you to know where I was coming from, and why I reacted so quickly...
On 9/11, my friends on IRC knew within 2 hours it was AQ (before the second tower strike, it's really interesting to read)...and another example is balloon boy, where we knew it was a hoax hours before the media did and had already linked him to the Swapping show, or the Ft. Hood shootings...where I was part of the team that figured his ident out well before it was made public (and withing 30 minutes, we had him nailed)...
I'm an Op there, and ever now and then we get some random poster who is clearly a troll..and that's when we get hassled.
And then I get to see someone I knew and loved for a long time pass...I'm sorry, the internet isn't what your cel phone thinks it is.
