Everyone knows this secret i know-but during the jumping fountains part of splash mountain there is a little possum in an orange t-shirt that pops down and goes FSU for Florida State University in a cute little critter voice. That is my favorite secret.

The last time i rode on splash, the guy in front of me lost his hat, and it bounced off my mom who juggled it and lost it, and the guy got mad at her, like it was her fault that he doesn't listen to cast members!!!!

Yup...we always see FSU weasel pop down from the roof (right after you see the tea kettles/weasels on the right) at the VERY end of the entire Laughing Place segment.

BTW, all of the weasels are the same animatronics used in America Sings. These seem to be the only AS physical animatronics that made it to WDW...the rest are in Disneyland's Splash Mountain or WDI.

Leave it to a disgruntled Gator fan to ruin it! :animwink: It really does sound like the gopher says this and everyone I've ridden with agrees. Evidently one of the Imagineers that worked on the ride was a FSU grad and put that in (got that info from The Disney Magazine).

What is it with the state of Florida and blaming officials?Last year Miami fans blamed the officials for their national championship loss instead of coming to terms with simply being outplayed by Ohio State. Now Gator fans ( or should I say Croc fans this year? ) blame them for their loss to FSU when their safety plays crappy cover 2 defense and lets the reciever get behind him and then gets turned around, letting in the game winning touchdown. Fear not Gator fans, next year you will once again be the dominat team in the SEC and all referee problems will be nulled :sohappy:

I'm about as big of an FSU fan there is and I will admit that there was shoddy referreeing. But we won, the game can't be replayed, so I'll just keep my mouth shut and go on with life. :wave:

It's all true. The Imagineer who designed the little critter is an alumni of FSU. It is right about you as you pass a sign on your left stating "danger ahead" or something. It will not pop out everytime you ride the attraction but he is there. I have a photo of it and caught it on video. The "FSU" sounds more like a sneeze though.

To be fair, the Gators has FSU with a 4th and 14 and let them convert, and then gave up the touchdown on that ridiculous play.

However, as every national media outlet pointed out, that was one of the worst officiating hose jobs in history.
