Word going around is that the Extreme Ghostbusters: The Great Fright Way show, which is presented daily in the New York area of the park, will have its last performance on Sunday, February 19th due to legal circumstances with Sony (who owns the GB franchise).

I went a seen this show last time i was in universal last year and all i could think was what a waste of a prefectly good name. I would to see a ghostbuster show but i would have to be a decent show and appleal to the old fans, but i understand that sony owns them now.

A few years ago, USF wanted to "phase out" the Ghostbusters, and apperantly now they have their wish.

The reason is that sony is looking to make another ghostbuster movie and they want teh franchise to be exclusive if they do so.

Won't happen. Bill Murray has locked up his owning of the rights. Without his OK Ghostbusters 3 can't be done. GB3 has been in talks since 1997 when "Extreme Ghostbusters" (the failed cartoon seris) was aired. Was suppose to tie-in to the third movie. Aykroyd has the script. Sony has said yes. Ramis has said yes. Director is a yes. Murray is a no.

On the other hand, "ghostbusters" does have it's own comic book now. Being done by an indie company but it's four issues (although late) have been very good.
