I'm looking for a pretty simple explanation of EMH since it was instituted right after my last trip. Thanks alot! :D

PS- What i do know is that a certain park gets to open earlier or close later than normal. But what about the times that the park closes and how do you get back in after that? I'm going in July if this in any help. Thank!

Morning EMH is when the park opens one hour early
Evening EMH is like the old E Ride Nights only you don't have to pay...anyone who is staying onsite can go so it gets very crowded. For some really good info (charts, day rotation, etc) CLICK HERE

You will need the special band to be able to ride the rides.

So lets say i go to the park for Morning EMH. I just go to the park normally and show them my resort card? No wristband?

And if i went for Evening EMH, lets say I'm already in the park walking around going to rides. At what time do people at non-disney resorts have to leave? Or do they not leave but just can't ride the rides. So i would have to go to a certain spot (what spot?) to get a wristband that would let me ride the rides.

I think i was imagining it as how they do MNSSHP where you have to leave the park and come back.

Thanks :king:

You don't need a wristband in the morning, your resort ID gets you in. Evenings you get a wristband from any of a number of spots in the park or if entering after hours at the gates. No-one has to leave, but attraction admission requires the wristband. Hope that helps.

Thanks! I asked about where to find the wristband because I'll probobly be one of the people thats like "Oh no! Where are they?!" :hammer: If they're out in the open then i should be good.

Right... EMH start after normal hours. While those staying off site do not have to leave (they can people watch and shop/eat) they will not be allowed on any attraction unles they have a wristband and you need to show your resort ID to get one of those.

Well I can only tell you about last August (the last week)...

AK - almost empty
EPCOT - fairly crowded, but very manageable.
MGM- didn't bother
MK-- It was so crowded that you could not move, people were shoving and stepping on each other. The lines for some of the rides were over an hour long. It had been a very hot, humid day (still was at night) and people's tempers were short. We left after about an hour and a half. We ate at Cosmic Ray's and they had run out of a lot of food (especially desserts), people were not happy.

You shouldn't have too much trouble when you are going...is that near Easter?(I'm too lazy to go look it up  ).

We have decided not to do EMH in the MK again. I liked the old system where you apid and only 5,000 people were let in.

I had trouble finding them at MK, the CMs I asked seemed to be guessing where they were. Ended up getting them at the Town Hall.

also be aware that not all the attractions in each park are open during EMH. Sometimes it's very limited which means those that are open are even more crowded than normal!

So if a park has EMH in the morning, I'd be willing to say that alot of people are going to flock to that park so it'll most likely be crowded throughout the day.

So is it better to beat the heat and go for morning EMH to a crowded park or go to a non-EHM park and hope that all the people are at the EMH park? Same goes for at night?

ARG, i dont know if i explained myself well, haha so here it is again, The parks that have any EMH would most likely be crowded because everyone is always trying to stuff their days full and wouldnt want to have to change parks. So would it be better to go to a non EMH park to avoid the crowds? Does that work?

Thanks for everything! :D

My experience is that the park with EMH is more crowded than normal. So yes, if you want to avoid crowds, on a very rudimentary basis, that's a good indicator. Evening EMH seemed to be chaotic immediately after the park closed, but became better as the three hours progressed.

Thanks! I think I'll try and vary my nights, by maybe going to an EMH park and the next not. Mainly because I'm planning on going to a park in the morning, then take a lunch break and relax then head back out to the same park or a different one. But thanks for all your info!

I think most people on vacation don't succeed very well at getting to a park early, so the morning EMH is probably a lot less crowded than the nighttime. I know we didn't succeed at getting there on our last trip though our intentions were good. We were lucky to get to the parks by 9:00!
