Extra Magic Hours Rookie

Hi everyone,

I've been following for well over a year and a half in my efforts to plan and execute a trip to WDW for a group of 32 - the majority being rookies. I have been to WDW twice as an adult, but have always stayed off site. This time we are staying at CSR. My question is about EMH... will "different" or "special" characters be available to guests during EMHs? For example, will "other" Star Wars characters be out at DHS? Will more princesses be around at MK? Any thoughts?

When are you going? Will it be during a time such as Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party?

If you are just going on a random day there usually isn't anyone special out during EMH. Most of the time there are actually less characters out. For EMH during Peak season which can go to 2 or 3am in the morning the characters don't stay out very long past park closing at all. If you are going with adults and not really children try and go meet characters during lunch when most families will be getting their kids food or rest so they don't have melt downs.

Characters were actually somewhat scaled back during EMH. There also aren't any characters out of the ordinary for those that do still meet with guests during those times.

They've eliminated most (if not all) character meet and greets during EMH. The Fantasyland characters used to be one of my favorite parts of evening EMH at the MK. Alas, they're no more.

Based on what I have been reading on here in relation to other areas of WDW, I guessed there would be few, but thought I would check. We will be there 10th-16th of March 2012.

At this point your best bets for random "rarer" characters will be at character palooza, or stumbling across training sessions.
Character palooza takes place in the Animation area at DHS (near where you can meet Sorcerer Mickey and Pooh) on nights there is no early Fantasmic, around 4:50 or so with 4 sets of characters. The other week I saw Jafar, Genie, Mary Poppins w/2 Mr. Penguins, and several much more common characters.
Training sessions can happen at anytime with no warning. Some recent training locations are both in Epcot, one by the gate over to the lookers left of American Adventure, and the second at the event pavillion gate over between the UK and Canada.
I can't recall seeing any characters at all during EMH last trip.
