Extra Magic Hours Question

We will be in Orlando for a week in August for a convention and will be buying our DW tickets through a convention discount (3 day base tickets). We are thinking about staying at a Disney resort for our last night there to benefit from the late night MK EMH. Will we be able to benefit from the EMH for the one day at the disney park with only our room key or do we have to purchase park tickets as well through the resort? I can't remember if they just want to see your room key or if they make sure you purchased your park tickets directly from Disney.

All you will need to show is your room card with a valid date and you are fine! Have fun.

Coachwnh is correct. Each of you will need a room key with a current date and you are good to go.

It doesn't matter where you buy your park ticket, but you will need a ticket. The room key allows you on the rides, but you need a ticket (purchased anywhere) to get into the park.
