Extra Magic Hour Fantasmic Shows

Got this interesting bit of news:

Fantasmic will be shown April 21st and 24th as part of the Extra Magic Hour for resort guests only at 10pm. Park closes to day guests at 8:30pm those nights (with a regular showing of Fantasmic at 8:30).

Very interesting. I have a PS for Fantasmic package on a non-EMH night and decided to skip it on the EMH evening so I could get in more rides. I think that's still the best idea, as long as you get to see Fantasmic! another time on your visit - the EMH crowds on the attractions will be super-low when an EMH-only Fantasmic is happening, I would assume.

We are supposed to be there on the 21 for SWW and EMH (Staying at Pop Century). Is the 2nd Fantasmic showing at closing for the EMH, meaning if we go to see the 2nd showing of Fantasmic will we be missing out on the EMH as far as rides go? Will they be booting us out right after the 2nd showing of Fantasmic?

They sometimes do a second showing on Fantasmic in busier periods,even when the park is open to all guests (not just resort). As far as i have seen its never full, you can just walk in about ten minutes before, meaning you should be able to get on most rides before.

I didn't know they would go to that length of putting on a special Fantasmic showing for EMH guests...that's cool because in theory it should be far less crowded, anybody been to Fantasmic during an EMH? Any reports???

Today is the first time it has happened. EMH at MGM tonight ends at 11:30pm (roughly 20mins from now) so maybe we can get a report from someone who went

I worked the show on the 21st doing crowd control...8:30pm show was packed with no room left and the 10:00 show was crowded but no standing room was used.

This is great! I always go to the second showing when its available. I also go to the third showing when it's busy enough for 3 shows. Any word as to whether or not the EMH Fantasmic will become permanent? I certainly hope so!

I was at MGM in March...have to check the actual date but it was the week of St Patricks day...we attended EMH one night and they did a 2nd show for EMH guests only. We had done a dinner pkg that night so we went to the first show. The rides were really empty until the 2nd show let out. It made the last maybe hour or so pretty busy at TOT and RNRC.

Is this not a regular thing since then?
