I'm going to be staying at Saratoga Springs but am thinking about extending my stay a few days at another resort. I've been thinking about Old Key West. I wont be using a car, only Disney's transport, so is it difficult to get to Old Key West with my suitcase using Disney's transport.
Also, is it difficult to use Magical Express when splitting your stay between 2 different Disney Resorts.

For the former question, I would think that it would depend on how much luggage you have. I am not sure, but I seem to recall reading at one time (so don't take this as an absolute answer) that the Disney Transit busses won't let you on with suitcases. But, again, don't quote me on that, and I've never tried it.

However, you could consider a taxi to get you there. The front desk will gladly book one for you.

As far as the latter, no, Magical Express will not be an issue. You just need to call Disney and update your reservation, and they'll update your ME tickets for departure from the other resort.

The bell services at the hotel will be able to move your luggage between resorts. So you basically check it in with them, and it will show up at your new resort later in the day. No worries there.

I don't know of any problems of magical express on the way out as long as the stay is continuous.

This^ We were sent two ME booklets, one for our arrival at POR (with the luggage tags) and one for our departure from Poly. No problem at all.

I just learned this on my last trip! We stayed at one resort for 3 nights, and another for 7. Bell services took care of the luggage, it was great! We just called and let them know, and they were very accommodating.

Yes, you aren't supposed to take luggage on the internal buses. Bell services will gladly get it from one resort to another. However, it may take several hours, so like traveling with DME, carry any essentials on your person as you may not have access to your luggage until late afternoon.
