Extending running shoe life with insoles

Do any of you use aftermarket insoles in your running shoes? I am trying to extend the life of my running shoes, and I believe that the insole is the part that is most in need to a refurbishment LOL. It seems that the supplied factory insole doesn't really have that long of a life. I'm not looking to modify the shoes support function, just wanting a bit of cushion back as they were were new. Any recommendations? Thanks

Superfeet Steve. They are AWESOME inserts. I have run with them for 2 years. You might not have a local dealer, but you can read about the different kinds here. Click Here Day 1 on a new pair of shoes, or mile 500 on retirement, I have these inserts.

EDIT: I find the "Orange" color to be a normal pronation with normal arch. The "Green" had a bit larger arch support and didnt work.

We also use Superfeet...I use the Berry ones and my husband uses the Green ones. His arches are REALLY high.

For running I use Powersteps. They were recommended by my doctor as I was having major knee problems a couple of years ago due to my flat feet. Powersteps are about $20 cheaper than Superfeet, but there are lots of options of Superfeet to choose from (10-15 total I think?) and 3-4 different types of Powersteps.
