Extending a meal plan for a trip?

We have a trip being planned for this January. it's starting as a family trip for the 2nd thru 6th. My wife and I are staying a few days longer to hang out with the mouse a bit more. So our first reservation is for the hotel....tickets...and a meal plan. My wife and I to save a ton are going to add days onto the hopper passes rather then buying new ones. We will be staying at the same hotel but trying to add the meal plan to the new room we can't do online because it says we need magic your way tickets.

Can this be done if we call for the three more days we are staying in past the family trip?

The ddp is only available with mmy packages, so it would need to be the same reservation and not two separate ones.

It's only valid until midnight of the day the reservation ends. So you would need to extend the initial reservation instead of making a new one. And doing so, everyone on the reservation needs to have the same package. So if you had other people in your room for the first portion, they would need to still be on the reservation for the second part. Doesn't make sense in my mind. Trying to get non free dining in your case will greatly outweigh the trivial cost savings (if any) from having the DDP.
