Extended Evening Hours: Expectations?

We're planning a trip to Disney in July 2023 and will be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. This is our first trip staying at a deluxe since the Extended Evening Hours were introduced. I'm trying to guage how much we should prioritize staying for these extended hours. Mainly, what are the lines typically like? Does the line for SDMT get short enough during this time to justify delaying riding until these evening hours?

My parents took advantage of the extended hours during 4th of July week and were able to knock out almost every ride they wanted, including SDMT. They're not fireworks people so they hopped over the MK just before Enchantment to get started. I believe they said the longest they waited was about 25 minutes.
