Exposition Hall Bricks

I was reading through some pictorial updates and came across this:

Does anyone else notice the brick pavers on the steps of the Emporium? It seems one side is new-ish, while the other is older and worn, but both are sullied. Are they planning on replacing the bricks?

As an aside I wish that they repaved Main Street's sidewalks with bricks rather than the red concrete they're using now, but that's just a pipe dream.

The entire left side of the Expo Hall was under tarps very recently.

I'd presume the rest of the building will undergo cleaning in the near future, though probably not until after Thanksgiving and the Christmas Parade taping, perhaps not until after New Years.

I don't get why they are making it a character meet and greet -- isn't there a movie theater in there?? They usually expo-ed new things at Disney. If they make the meet & greets inside, I'll never see any of the characters, because I would never have any reason to wait in line to see them.

Last I heard it was to provide an alternative location for the M&G's being displaced by the FLE project. Those are already indoors with lines to see them, so it's not a big change. It's just a different location.

Also notice that the railings are differant from right to left. In front of the column on the right there are 2 brass railings coming down and the left column only has one center on the column. Also the far left has not brass protective rail and the right does.
I would not be surpriseed to see the left side get tarped and rehabbed starting early January.

Are you sure is wasn't the right side?

^It was indeed the right side that has been under tarps for some months. I would expect to see the left side go under once the holiday season is over.

My mistake.

I knew the FAR right had been under tarps (where the old Walt Disney Story entrance was), but wasn't sure how far toward the center it extended. And I knew there had been tarps over by Tony's, so I assumed those included that left-center part.

Here's the update from last week, which shows much clearer the great brickwork done on the right-hand side, and what still needs to be done on the left-center section.

I think it looks bad the way it is. If you look at the top above the stairs there is a bracket missing and what looks like some sort of small cover in the same area. There are no Christmas decorations on the right side and there are on the left......I dont understand how they could let it look this bad after a refurb. You can see th line where all the work stopped.....This is poor show quality on Disney's part.

I'm sorry, but I disagree. Main Street has been undercover for 8+ months and the refurbs are not complete. With the holiday crowds now starting to arrive it is very important for them to get down the walls and scrims if they can. The right side looks great and the left which has not been touched of course does not look as good. Now it would be poor show if they had taken down the walls and scrims on the right and then they covered up the left and started working on it for the holidays. It would be nice when Fairy Godmother gets a break from CRT maybe she could take a walk down Main Street to the Exposition Hall and wave her magic wand and make it all perfect.

Holiday decor should be installed most likely early next week when the crowd levels drop and the MK closes for more than just 8 hours.
