This hotel park hybrid is a DVC exclusive resort. Rooms are free, all one needs is a DVC membership. They will be given the first room available. Guests are free to roam outside of their area. The theme is SEA expeditions in other countries. All guests get to the hotel by way of a Riverboat themed Cruise Ship and enter by way of Falls Manor, a British Colonial mansion belonging to Albert Falls, where a guest is given their room. The Adventurers Club is also in here. It is exactly what guests remember!

Mediterranean Coast:

Greece: A replica of Knossos holds Minotaur Challenge. It is a dimly lit maze with scary SFX, cobwebs, leg ticklers, fog, and a live Minotaur that chases guests through the maze. Due to the terrifying experience, it is not recommended to guests 12 and under. Above that, Icarian Flight stands. It is a zip coaster themed to The Wings Of Icarus. In a cave below the palace, The Underworld sits. Guests can eat pomegranate based food in Hades And Persephone’s Palace, buy Magic related things in Hecate’s Lair, buy Skeleton related things in The Cavern Of Thanatos, and buy lily related things in The Asphodel Fields. The rooms are Santorini villages.

Spain: This area consists of a replica Alhambra with a Caves Of Altamira shop, Cordoba arch mirror maze, and Sorcerers Workshop from DCA with the original three rooms in a hill at the base. The main attraction is Haunted Castle, an Old World Haunted Mansion. Guests wait in the courtyard of The Alhambra by the Leon Family Plot. A voice plays on loop, telling guests that The Leon Family was very influential and collected oddities from all over the world. However, a storm killed the whole family on Carnival, and they haunt their castle in an eternal celebration of Carnival. When the time is right, guests enter a doorway that says Museum Of The Weird at Castillo Leon. Guests enter, then see the human faced chair, who welcomes them and tells them that the exhibits are in dire need of help, The Candle is melting, the Plant is crazy, and Leota’s woeful. He tells guests to help the museum. Guests find The Wax Candle Man, who cries out in pain that he will melt. They help him escape from the flames by way of a wax maze. Then, guests avoid the tendrils of the Man Eating Plant in a Laser Maze themed to a greenhouse. Finally, they find Madame Leota, who weeps about her lost orb in her cart. Guests then navigate a mirror maze to find The Orb inside of the wagon. At the end, Leota thanks them and guests exit into the load area. There, they board omnimovers that slowly move through the remainder of the castle. First, they enter through a hallway and maneuver into an old world take on the Haunted Mansion ballroom. The ghosts now revel in Carnival, wearing masks and dancing. Then, omnimovers enter a masked celebration of skeletons in a catacomb and five familiar stone faces singing Grim Grinning Ghosts. Finally, vehicles pass a point where guests look into a mirror and see masked wraiths have come to follow them home! Guests unload and exit through a small chamber lined with carved skulls that watch them as they move. The rooms are Moorish Styled Manors.

The Desert:

Jordan: This area has only one main structure. It is a replica of Petra. Within it, Journey To The Grail stands. This is an Indiana Jones themed obstacle course with rope bridges over “Spike Pits”, rope swings over a ravine holding “Rats”, climbing nets themed to spider webs, rock slides, rings themed to artifacts, and hurdles themed to rocks. The exit is a room with several golden goblets with images below. Each image is duplicated and hidden under a goblet in a memory game played with a CM dressed as a Knight. The Wadi Rum forms a beautiful backdrop at all times of the day for Bedouin Tent Cafe. This is a restaurant with private dining rooms themed to Bedouin tents. The rooms are Bedouin Tents in Wadi Rum.

Egypt: This Area has an obelisk, a temple, and a Pyramid. The obelisk is an observation tower, the temple is a shop, and the Pyramid holds Curse Of The Pharaohs. This EMV ride takes riders into a newly discovered tomb in search of an ankh. They ride past flame jets, spike lined walls, quicksand, spears that shoot out of statues, and ceilings that descend. Then, the Army Of The Dead awakens to guard the ankh chamber. The riders narrowly make it to the Ankh Chamber before the doors shut. Then, they have to put up with Sand Spirit, a giant scorpion that moves its tail in an attempt to gore them. Riders escape, of course! The rooms are excavation tents and ancient tombs.
The African Experience:

Africa: This area is a tribute to Sub Saharan Africa’s culture and Natural Beauty. Mt Kilimanjaro stands dramatically above the land, like the Fuji Of Africa. Within, Mount Kilimanjaro Mayhem stands. This bobsled ride takes guests down Kilimanjaro during an avalanche. Mount Kenya holds Mount Kenya Rapids, a rapids ride themed to the Kenyan Symbol. Cathedral Peak holds Grootslang, a roller coaster themed to the mythical snake the size of an elephant, accessed by a Zulu Hut. Guests can look at Victoria Falls from BOMA, an Animal Kingdom Lodge favorite. The Great Zimbabwe Ruins hold Flight Of The Bateleur, a flying coaster based on The Bateleur Eagle. Erta Ale holds an Ethiopian subsection. The Obelisk Of Axum acts as an enclosed drop tower, themed to the famous monument’s theft by Italy. The Castle Of Gondar holds a shop selling Kente, Mudcloth, masks, shields, statues, jewelry, and clothing made by African craftsmen, along with Sanaa, the other Animal Kingdom Lodge restaurant. A Lesotho Kraal, or animal pen, located at the base of a rock art decorated Qiloane, leads guests into Dinosaur: Lesotho Expedition. This junior coaster takes guests on what begins as a peaceful tour of prehistoric Lesotho, with a slow ride past a stream with Lesothosaurus and Abrictosaurus, two herbivores. However, things get intense when a K-Brok, related to the famous Tyrannosaurus Rex, appears seeking prey. Vehicles ascend a mountain, then pick up pace upon the descent, as they are chased by the K-Brok. The speeds are similar to Seven Dwarves at WDW/Shanghai. A less intense experience in Lesotho is Kraal Kruise. This gentle boat ride takes guests past Kraals with Cowherds and Cows, a family of Elephants, Hippopotami in the water, Giraffes in the trees, and a herd of galloping Zebras. A Kalahari tribe village stands nearby, holding The Sun And The Moon. This walkthrough attraction recounts their myth about the Sun’s blanket with holes, the stars, the battle of Sun and Moon, the lunar phases, and the cows that leap over the Moon, the leap year. An Asanti hut holds an exhibit on Gold weights, a collaborative exhibit with The Smithsonian National Museum Of African Art. Mozambique has a butterfly sanctuary, based on the recent finding of new butterfly species, which, while not exhibited, will be mentioned. Giant trees will grow, similar to the Mozambican mountain forest. Madagascar’s famous Lemurs are exhibited in a realistic setting, so guests can see these clever bipedal primates who usually do not live beyond 20. The rooms are Zulu Huts, The Kraal, The Gondar Castle, Asanti Huts, and Treehouses in Mozambique and Madagascar.

The Rainforest:

Honduras: This area starts out as a Spanish Colonial village with shops and restaurants, but as guests head towards the back, they enter Mayan Trail, an overgrown wasteland filled with interactive Mayan artifacts. Guests can go into the water play section Chac Mool Chaos, in which Chac Mool statues spray water from the bowls they hold, slide down a pyramid, go on Temple Of Camazotz, a Madhouse themed to the Mayan Bat God, or even attempt to escape The Tomb Of Pacal. Guests enter the queue for this attraction by way of a cenote. This leads into a Catacomb with skull lined walls and skulls impaled on flaming sticks acting as torches. After that, guests cross a suspension bridge over crocodile and shark infested waters. It drops down when guests reach the halfway point, revealing a cave mouth. Guests enter the cave and see stalactites and stalagmites in the shapes of demons and evil spirits. A long ramp leads into a pre show room. A Mayan Ghost floats in. The ghost greets guests, saying, “Welcome to the Haunted Tomb in The Pyramid Of Pacal. I am an Ancient Mayan Ghost. I haunt these grounds, helping mortals like you escape. This tomb belongs to the evil demon king Pacal. Good king Zuma of Tenochtitlan and him fought many a war, but in the end, the Aztecs succeeded. Now, a curse is on the chamber. Those who dare enter the tomb must solve Three Riddles Posed By Pacal. I will be there to assist you. Good luck!” A door opens, revealing a chamber with the first riddle within. Fog covers the ground, obscuring leg ticklers and compressed air, which go off randomly. The first riddle, which is inscribed on a door, says, WHAT DID MAN FIND TO GIVE LIGHT AND PAIN? There are carvings of flames all around, to serve as a hint for the answer, FIRE. ghost’s clue is, “A place in the home holds it, it can have wood, and it is red, yellow, and orange.” Once a guest says fire, the door opens and the second chamber is revealed. The second riddle, inscribed on a painting of the night sky, is, FIRST, THE MAN OF ESPIONAGE. SECOND, THE COMMON LETTER BETWEEN REED, HID, AND, MUD. THIRD, THE END OF THE METAL BOX WHICH PRODUCES FLAME. WHAT IS IT? Several fake cobwebs are strung around the room and leg ticklers go off randomly. These should both signal Spider as the answer. The ghost’s clue is “Octopus silk weaver and killer of pests.” Once someone says Spider, the door opens, revealing a burial chamber with the third riddle on a stone sarcophagus. The third riddle is THE DEMONS DEMAND THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE ATTACKED. WHAT SHALL YOU DO WITH A ROSARY OR IN A TEMPLE? Carvings of people bowing to Pacal are hints to the answer, PRAYER. The Ghost’s clue is, “Say Amen, we’re almost done!” Once someone says the word Prayer, the door opens, revealing a treasure chamber. The Ghost says, “Thank you for coming to the tomb. You may take one gold coin from the treasure chest! Bye!” Guests take a gold coin depicting Pacal’s face from a golden box, then exit through an observatory with one path, a stone bridge into a cenote holding Rio De Xibalba is a boat based dark ride based on Mayan mythology. Guests queue through a Mayan tomb. They get on their boats in a jungle. Boats drop down the cenote into the Tomb Of The Crystal Maiden. This is a skeleton coated in crystals. Then, boats pass a stone altar with a stela behind it and drop into Xibalba’s courtyard. The first house boats enter is The House Of Razors. Razors fly at guests, buzzing by. Then, they enter the House Of Bats. Once in here, bats flutter around as Camazotz, a Mayan death bat god. Then, boats enter The House Of Fire. This is to be taken literally. The next house is The House Of Cold. Again, take it as literally as possible. After this, boats enter House Of Jaguars. This is a jungle full of jaguars who attack boats. The final house is The House Of Darkness. Again, take this one literally. After all of the houses, the boat charges for a backwards finale as it zips past everywhere seen at the beginning. Guests unload in an abandoned Spanish mansion. The rooms are bland Spanish Colonial Houses and an Ancient Mayan Palace.

Colombia: Guests enter Casita, the landmark and experience Madrigal Funhouse! Guests can slide down stairs, cross quaking floors, slide across logs in Antonio’s room (Inspired by Tarzan), swing on vines in Isabela’s room, spin on a floor carousel in Bruno’s Circle Room, and even ride a bench with hanging vines. Arepas and other Colombian foods are served at VIVO SU BUENA VIVA. The rooms are colorful Spanish Colonial Homes, treehouses, and houseboats.

Peru: This section is themed to the Incan people. The main attraction here is The Lab Coaster. This takes guests through an Incan Palace dungeon into a secret lab where they can get special cocktails. The rooms are Brick huts with Trapezoidal doors and windows.

Brazil: The entire area is themed to a painting of Baìa and The Amazon rainforest. Guests enter through frames and it appears framed from across the lagoon. This pavilion’s icon is Aqualera Do Aves Rara Do Amazonia En Brasil. Guests ride a flying boat, powered by some of Jose Carioca’s black magic, through a watercolored variant Amazon and see rare birds, including the recurring Aracuan Bird. Baìa Churrascaria is located along the banks. Guests enter a train stopped on a book and end up at the Baìa Train Station. Guests dine on the street, served by singing and dancing staff in vibrant Brazilian attire. Some even carry meals out atop their heads! Yaya comes out to serve her famous Quindins to guests. Guests exit Baìa through the train station and exit the train. The Flying Burro stands in the center of town. This aerial carousel takes guests on a flight atop a winged donkey. The rooms are colorful houses in the traditional style.

Polynesia: This section is themed to a Māori Pa. The main attraction here is Voyage Of Moana. This boat ride takes guests into Te Fiti to witness the story of how one clever young woman and a demigod overcame obstacles on a journey to restore Te Fiti’s Heart. The Journey Of Water is next door. It is a clone of EPCOT’s.

Cambodia: The centerpiece here is Shir Lee Temple. This is a quick service restaurant themed to the temple in Jungle Cruise. Guests order their food in the Treasure Room. The drinks are in golden cups and the plates are golden. The seating area is located outside in a porch with a Khmer bust. All the food is made with plants, and the entry hall is lined with crumbling statues of standing people. A bamboo walled treehouse with wood floors and tarp roofs, along with 1900s furnishings, is where a group of guests can stay in a style similar to the Porters from Tarzan or The Swiss Family Robinson. The treehouse, tree surfing, and vine swinging are included in The Mekong Jungle Experience.

The Frigid Lands:

Russia: Bald Mountain Drop dominates the area. This is a drop tower themed to the classic Fantasia segment. Guests enter a ruined castle near a cemetery at the end of the forest, which leads them to the fiery depths, where guests load a wraithlike spirit and ascend. Chernabog is atop the mountain. When vehicles fly up to him, he swats at the vehicles. The vehicles drop down to the lava to escape, then are erupted back to Chernabog, rinse and repeat for a few minutes and then guests unload and exit through a lava tube. Mortem In Lapis sells souvenirs related to Bald Mountain in a mausoleum. The rooms are a Russian Domed Palace.

Antarctica: This section is entirely indoors and is kept as cold as indoor Ski resorts, as it has mountains of snow. It perfectly simulates a frozen wasteland. Penguins and seals roam enclosures. Guests can enter Mount Erebus Terror and experience a volcanic eruption first hand in an immersive theatre in the round setting. Guests can also go to Blood Falls and ride Blood Falls Rapids. The water is dyed red, to simulate the famous Antarctica landmark. The rooms are research stations that are designed with a Tomorrowland aesthetic with indoor heating.

I quite like the dark tone of most of this park/hotel hybrid (though balanced out by the lighter moments of course) It’s actually pretty awesome. I do have a few ideas for it;

* A possible new land being an urban hellscape/polluted wasteland. Settings like that are under appreciated by Disney, if not in theme parks as a whole. A dark sci-fi area (Antarctica?) could be cool too.
* Hades Grill for Greece.

Maybe a full fledged Underworld with Shops and Restaurants, all themed to Hades. I think a that Pomegranate should be used in many dishes, as it was symbolic of Hades. The Mayan Trail is now an overgrown wasteland, Polynesia has been added to integrate Moana, and Africa has been added, due to my current obsession with the Sub Saharan region.
