Expedition Everest Challenge Crowds

So, I'm wondering what effect this run has on the crowds at Disney (May 2-4). It looks like the value resorts are booked up, so I'm having to stay offsite, and now I'm a little worried!! I'll still have fun either way, just curious.

We're going to be there at that time, and the touring plans crowd calendar doesn't show any kind of increase in crowds for that weekend. The parks are still an average of a 4 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday, so not bad! Animal Kingdom in particular is a 4 on Saturday and 5 on Sunday. My family goes most years in early May, and crowds are typically fine.

We're competing this year and were told to be at AK at least 2 hours before the race. Their bussing people all over. I know the host resorts have continuous busses and WWoS is bussing folks too. Looks like it will be crowded but I don't think it will be unbearable.

If I remember correctly it's only like 5-7,000 runners. Nothing at all like Marathon weekend in January.

Yeah, I noticed most values were booked up and many restaurants reservations were unavailable until May 5th. But I'm not too worried.
