Usually i dont post much on these sight but this is an issue thats really bothering me. Is this sight called wdw magic or is this the wdw complaint dept. its seems that almost every thread on this site lately is about somebodys stupid complain. Dont you guys go to wdw to enjoy yourselves n make magical memories with your families or do you spend thousands of hard earned dollars n wait what feels to me as endless days waiting to visit wdw just to pick the parks apart? Everyone is so worried about a cobweb or a light bulb blown out etc.this site is realy starting to get depressing with all the crybabys out there. Im sure if i visit your house/property im sure your place is kept no wheres as nice as the disaster you people are making wdw out to be so why dont we stop all the n start enjoying what several people have worked so hard for all of us to enjoy. Im sorry if im offending anyone but come on people the reason we all care so much about wdw is because this place in one way or another has attracted us to this wonderful place and most of us have created great memories so lets all think back and remember the great times n memories we have all made in wdw and start sharing the positive things about wdw instead of whining about an issue that your not gonna change. Thank you for taking the time to read this now lets share some positive issues and memories no bash the place we all fell in love with!!!

First, and please don't take this the wrong way, but a big blob of text is hard to read. This isn't a dig about grammar or punctuation, it would just be helpful that, for longer posts, if you put carriage returns every few lines to break your thoughts up.

Second, I think you grossly underestimate the issues being debated. Sure, there are cobweb complaints, and lighting complaints, but there are also operational concerns, and dissatisfaction with current investments at WDW, both for the volume of monies spent and the precieved returns.

When compared to the enhancements made at DLC, or even the massive experience investments being made at Universal...it's understandable that some who love the heck out of WDW, and enjoy it thoroughly, may also have concerns.

The more you go, the more you notice, and yes, these things stick out like a sore thumb. That is what much of the discussion is about.

I appreciate your statement, but I'd counter (and this has been said before), people don't complain because they hate the parks...people complain because they love them. And yes, there is the gloss of nostalgia at play, but many of the complains are more than that.

For example, if you compare the DisneyLand Main Street to WDW's...you would easily be able to see how adding a Starbucks makes it feel even more like a mall. A mall with well themed storefronts, but still a mall. :P Gone is the magic shop, the theatre has been half-heartedly converted into an art store, Center Street West was demolished to make the Emporium even larger, taking away some of the "side street beauty" that used to make that section of the park feel more unique and explorable, rather than an expressway to get to the castle.

Gone is the flower vendor. Gone are the main street vehicles (with the exception of the horse drawn carriage). Gone is the Penny Arcade, with most of the machines being removed (two or three were moved into Main Street Station, but that's all that's left). At least at Disneyland they themed the entrance with a few penny arcade machines so it makes sense.

Disney is changing, and many don't like the direction it is going. And, as I said, that is because they are passionate about the parks, and want to likely share those childhood experiences (like playing in the Penny Arcade) with their children. But can't...because now it's a large shop that sells the same merch as every other shop.

As a side note, if you want to see a thread in the forum that has a lot of glowing reviews and discussions, try the Disney Cruise Line threads. I didn't even realize how much WDW had truly slipped (I thought the complaints were overblown) until I did a cruise and saw the difference. It's night and day.

If you don't enjoy the tone of conversation here I suggest you do your part to add some positivity rather than negativity. In general people don't like to be told how to think or feel so threads like this don't tend to go down very well. A better approach would be to contribute well thought out positive comments to on going conversations without preaching.
